Welcome to Highland & Company Acres—your chance to stay in a one-of-a-kind 480 sq. ft. shipping container home, thoughtfully designed and nestled on our serene 10-acre sustainable homestead. Enjoy a peaceful escape surrounded by nature, with Scottish Highland cattle grazing just outside your window. From the cozy loft bedroom, you can take in valley views and watch the Highland coos right from bed. The loft is accessed by a spiral staircase inside, or an exterior staircase leading to the upper deck—your choice! Inside, you’ll find a fully stocked galley-style kitchen with stainless steel appliances and granite countertops. The spacious bathroom features a tile shower with a rainshower head, and a large closet houses a convenient all-in-one European-style washer/dryer. Unwind in the inviting living area with 9-foot ceilings and an electric fireplace, or head outside to enjoy both a traditional fire pit overlooking the valley and a gas fire pit on the scenic deck. Whether you’re watching the sunset, sipping coffee with the cows nearby, or stargazing by the fire, this unique farm stay offers the perfect mix of comfort, charm, and connection to nature.

It was a very quaint home. You can tell that Dave and Jamie actually lived in the tiny home. They put a lot of thought into how to make the small space work well for 2 people. We would definitely stay here again.

Our stay at Highland Farms

What a beautiful place to stay! The hosts were so helpful and the place was so clean. We loved getting to meet the cows and feed them. The doggies were so friendly and cute. The house had everything you could ever need. We also had the opportunity to bring home special gifts from our very memorable stay. We are definitely coming back!!

Cozy wooded fantasy!!

The moment we stepped out of the car we knew we had made the right choice! The air was fresh, everything was so green and the property was very well kept!! We’re both animal lovers so the roaming animals was absolutely a solidifying factor for us and our booking. We even got to meet our host who invited us over for breakfast :) They’ve really thought of everything to make this a welcoming place to stay. As a queer couple this was extremely important to us. Will definitely be back!

This is a lovely, peaceful, refreshing place to stay.Older travelers (such as myself) or anyone with mobility issues will need to be aware that indoor access to the bedroom and deck on the second floor is by a narrow spiral staircase. Carrying things such as a cup of coffee up can be challenging.

The container house and farm are in a beautiful location. The house is very well-equipped. The animals are great fun to watch and feed. (Carrots and apples were a favorite.) The innkeepers are kind and friendly and answered any questions we had about the animals. Town is a short drive away if you choose to go out to eat or want to explore. I enjoyed it so much that I will be returning with my sister in a few months.
