The prominent location of the reef is ideal for many migratory birds that use Blåvand and Skallingen as resting and feeding places. In the area there are also a number of artists and craftsmen who work various raw materials in their workshops. These include ceramists, amber cutters and candle makers. There are also opportunities for sports activities. Try the squash, badminton or tennis facilities. Legoland is an hour's drive away and Esbjerg's harbor and the Fisheries and Maritime Museum can be reached in about 30 minutes.
