This was a perfect spot to spend a week in our favorite area. We spend a month or more up here every year and we consider this area our other home. This is the only area (county) we come to and vacation. It was peaceful and quiet and we had the whole area pretty much to ourselves. The cabin was listed as ‘well appointed’ and they did not disappoint! We expected to need to make the usual run back into Chester to Holiday Market to stock the refrigerator with needed items and condiments, but some of those were already on hand. The kitchen is beautiful and my husband loved the countertops. I loved the deep couch and curling up and binge watching some shows with him in the evening. The beds were comfortable and dreamy to sleepy in and my son couldn’t decide which bed in the bunk room to sleep in so he tried both! A little heads up, if you are tall, you will need to duck to avoid a load bearing beam and when going through doorways. My husband is 6’4 for reference, so six feet and under you are for sure safe, everyone else - watch your melon! But by no means let that deter you because this place is fabulously awesome. One other minor thing to be aware of in the winter only, and this really only applies to folks who drive cars and don’t have a lot of room to pack things out. In the winter, you have to pack out your own trash. It wasn’t a big deal for us as we are country raised and drive trucks and had plenty of space to take care of the trash. Five Stars! WE WILL BE BACK!

Father’s Day Getaway
First time to Lake Almanor. Found the house to be very well equipped in the kitchen as well as being very clean. Unit is close to the water, 50 yards, but not on the water. The grounds were perfect for the family and dog. Would stay here again.

Overall Good
Overall, we had a good time and the property was clean and well equipped for our stay. There were some minor bumps that I think are worth pointing out: Parking is limited in the winter since some of the parking is filled with snow brims from the plow. It's a bit of a slippery driveway and neighbors that aren't the most considerate with how they park, so that was a minor inconvenience. Direct TV did not work the entire time we were there, but the property manager was very responsive and worked hard to try to correct. This unit is a daylight basement, not just the lower level of a cabin. I didn't realize that until we arrived so the unit was a bit darker than I envisioned. Because it's technically a basement, the ceilings are low. I'm pretty short and when I lifted my arm in the shower I bumped my hand on the ceiling. It was fine for me and my vertically challenged family, but If you're 6' tall, I don't think you will be comfortable in this home. So, overall, it was a lovely time. You are right by the lake with a nice view and it's a very relaxing location. I wanted to point out a few things to just help the next person make an informed decision.
