This property was excellent! The host was kind enough to accept our accommodation request and the property had everything we needed. My group was in town for a wedding at Haak Winery nearby, and it was perfect walking distance. Communication with the host was clear and timely. Very pleased with this stay.

Looks can be deceiving
I will say this first, it’s a little off putting that a vineyard is right smack in the middle of a neighborhood. So, be careful of the children riding their four-wheelers and dirt bikes up and down the roadway. Initially, I was taken aback by the looks of the home. As it appeared to be an older looking home that could use a really good power washing. It’s located right next to the winery as noted in the listing. It is somewhat a nuance to use the older lockbox to get into the home. Even though I was not impressed with how the home looked on the outside the inside was absolutely gorgeous. The details with decorations were superb. I loved the dry bar, cabinetry, the sitting area in the kitchen to eat at, the master shower was nice, and the beds were soft- and that’s about it. There were wasps nests at all three doorways of the home. During the day I avoided going out due to being allergic to them. Beautiful windows everywhere, but a privacy issue due to lack of the ability to cover the windows in some areas-master bath one window you can look into clearly & you can’t cover it, the kitchen windows you can’t cover, & there are windows in the living room that also doesn’t have blinds. Privacy is limited in some areas of the home. There were guests on the vineyard that continually stared into the home during the weekend that made myself, my boyfriend, and the other couple uncomfortable. Another couple issues included: inability to use the wine refrigerators available (couldn’t adjust the temperatures), there was a bottle of ice cold Haak wine in a hot fridge- weird right? The freezer was even hot. We thought maybe we had to give it over night to cool. It cooled a little overnight. Luckily, we came with two large coolers with a ice packs and ice, so our food was okay for the first night. After cooking the next day, any leftovers spoiled. I let the woman know who showed up at 1:54p on Saturday about the wine tour. When I first arrived I was given the okay to checkin early & was unable to get into the property. I called & was transferred to a voicemail, left a msg. I emailed as well. A diff code than what was on VRBO, my fault. The property manager came by apologized and let me know she will be gone that Sat. There’s barely any pots/dish detergent vs dishwasher pods/bath towels- luckily I brought my own. Wasn’t fond of the other properties being attached to the property similarly to an apartment complex or duplex.

About the host
Hosted by Stacie Whitley
In 1969, dedicated lovers of wine, Gladys and Raymond Haak were celebrating their 10th wedding anniversary. Gladys decided the perfect gift for her husband would be two Concord grape vines. The pair loved wine and it was a way to expand their hobby that they could enjoy together. She couldn’t possibly have known that she would be creating what would become Haak Vineyards.
The fire was stoked. With these two vines began an intense experimentation process. The experimentation lead Raymond to focus on the Blanc du Bois grape, which responded well to the hot and humid temperatures. As a result, Haak began to garner a reputation for excellence.
Haak routinely produces Regional, US, and International award-winning wines from many of the 20+ wines produced at the winery and is but one of a handful of wineries in the US that produces internationally acclaimed Madeira.
Why they chose this property

That menu changes weekly so check our social media on Mondays or give us a call to provide Bistro offerings.
