This was one I f my favorite places to stay. The house is gorgeous, with all the supplies one would need, a gorgeous view, and fantastic location. Great place for kids. Nearby hills for sledding, beautiful trails and right up the road from restaurants, a grocery store, the tubing hill, and the slopes. The owner/host was so kind and helpful. All messages were promptly responded to. Really wonderful vacation.

Thank you so much for being a generous and kind guest - we appreciate it so much!
We had a great stay. The house was well stocked and had everything we needed for a great stay at the summit. Close to East Summit it was easy to access the lifts. We appreciated the garage set up for drying clothes after skiing. The host was great at communicating details for check in. Comfortable home with a great location.
The property was super clean and well maintained. Amy had a nice gift basket waiting for us which was appreciated. She was very timely with her responses to any questions which is always a plus.
The house is near some great trails and walks with plenty more to do. If you like to be outside the city then this is a great spot to be in.
Our work team gathered for a weekday retreat and had a lovely time. The home is architecturally beautiful, the kitchen was well stocked with equipment for cooking, and many extras were provided. Lots of games to play, comfortable beds, and an amazing view of the Cascade mountains. Front and back decks give several opportunities to enjoy the surroundings. We'd highly recommend a stay at Hyak.

Glad to hear your retreat went well and you enjoyed our home!
We absolutely loved the house. It was perfectly clean, well stocked (and labeled), with amazing views. Wonderful host. We were going to have a larger group but ended up just my wife and me. We absolutely hope to be back and will try to get this house again! Zero complaints - loved it.

Jon- come back anytime and hope your family can join you next time around!
From the very beginning, our hosts were so helpful in every step to help us have the perfect family reunion in their beautiful well stocked home in the mountains. They were so responsive and tried to accomadate our every need.
You are so close to ski lifts, sledding, and snowshoeing if you plan it right you never need to get in your car.
The only complaint we had was the lack of heat in the living, dining and kitchen area. The propane fireplace was not enough for the unusally cold weather and the last day the fireplance broke keeping the living space about 60%. It was pretty uncomfortable but we retrieved to the bedrooms to warm up where it was nice and toasty and the kitchen had heated floors that felt great on your feet.If the heat thing could be figured out we would love to stay in this gorgeous home with the most awesome hosts we've ever experienced. Thank you to Amy and Matt

It was unfortunate timing that the coldest day of the year we have had (down to 12F) coincided with your last full day at our cabin. Matt went up to the cabin after you checked out and found that the burner button in the fireplace had been switched to the off position by someone in your party during your stay. He switched it to the on position and it worked all day he stayed onsite.
It’s hard to fit all the pros of this property in a concise review. First off, the owners are extremely accommodating, kind, and quick communicators. I’ve stayed in 2 other cabins in the same neighborhood before, and this one is leaps and bounds superior to those (and priced about the same). The house is big and comfortable, plenty of space to relax, eat, and enjoy time with friends and family. The views are amazing, and the house is insanely convenient for the John Wayne Trail (right out the front door). Plenty of parking, fast Internet, and all the creature comforts you would need to make this your home away from home. I can’t say enough good things about this amazing property. I will be coming back next year with my family. This is by far the best property in Hyak.
Beautiful location, as is the property, the style of the house was tranquil and serene, I really liked the skilled craftsmanship that went into the construction of the facility...First Class and highly recommend this for a great GetAway

Glad you loved the beauty of our home - it is a special place. Thank you!
Amy is a fabulous host! She’s got an amazing guidebook ready for your adventure whether it’s ski/snowshoe season or hiking/biking season. The location is fantastic (and a quick drive just over an hour from Seattle). The cabin is gorgeous and has plenty of space, not to mention that view!!!!

About the host
Hosted by Amy Huey
Our family of 5 has lived in Seattle for 19 years. We love domestic and international travel and are looking forward to our children falling in love with the sights of the world as well!
Why they chose this property
We are a ski family every weekend in the winter - all five of us love to hit the slopes! We got this property to enjoy winters close to home.
What makes this property unique
The views from this home are out of this world - can't think of many more places more beautiful than the view out of our front window with state park across the street. Unobstructed views are the best!
