This home has all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay. Kitchen is fully stocked for cooking and serving, beds were comfortable, setting is quiet and beautiful. Plenty of towels and linens.
We loved this cabin! The location was beautiful and the cabin was so cozy! We really enjoyed the trip, the accommodations were all very comfortable, except for the futon in the game room. This bed was uncomfortable and we ended up using the couch in the living room. Overall, it's a beautiful place to stay and we loved our trip!
Property is in a great location and quiet neighborhood that is close to town and lots of trails. I enjoyed taking a morning coffee walk through the quiet streets. House has everything you need including a comfortable living space, outdoor space, and comfortable beds. The kids loved the bunk room and game room!
Really great cabin in an excellent location. We enjoyed having a pool table and made good use of the bbq! Super close to several great golf courses as well. Would highly recommend.
Even though it was quick, we packed it in the two days and nights. Check-in was straightforward and the cabin was pretty much as advertised in the listing. Would recommend this place for your next trip to Graeagle.
The woodsy Mountain Cabin was the perfect place to stay for our golf tournament weekend. It's well appointed and the beds are comfortable. The deck outside was perfect place to relax and have a after golf cocktail. I would definitely stay here again. The hosts were very accommodating and allowed us to drop our stuff off prior to check in so we could make our tee time. Highly recommend!!
Great home for a golfing getaway. Comfortable beds, great location and all the things you need to have a great trip. No issues at all. A great time was had by all. Thanks again.
Property is well kept, clean, and easy to find. The host provided a book detailing everything you could possibly need. Well organized and comfortable-cozy. Would highly recommend this lovely home.
Wonderful weekend+ in Graeagle! We had a very nice time at the property, weather we perfect, all things worked and garage space was a bonus to store mtn bikes. The bedrooms were nicely decorated, the kitchen was clean and well stocked and the living spaces/dining area were well done. Lighting on the deck was nice touch too. Overall...a good time was had by all.
We've spent time in this area all my life, and when I'm in the mountains of eastern California, I have an image in my mind of how that stay is supposed to look. Woodsy Mountain Cabin nailed it! All the amenities we needed, with none of the distractions we didn't. There were plenty of activities for our children to enjoy in the evenings after after long, hike- filled days. The spacious porch made it easy to entertain visiting family memebers, while keeping the kids entertained as they ran around outside. Definitely what we were looking for upon booking. A+!
We were mountain biking in Downieville, Quincy, and Graeagle.
This home offered us a centralized base with services available in the area to support our trip. Services in Graeagle are limited with varying hours. Most places close early evening. Quincy, which is about 30 minutes away has much more in the way of services available.

Hi James, yes this is true about Quincy. If you need a larger town with more services, Quincy or Portola are good options. Graeagle and Blairsdon are quaint little towns with a market that closes at 6PM, a gas station, and ACE Hardware, about 10 small local retail shops, and several food service locations such as Graeagle Cafe Breakfast & Lunch, Coyotes for dinner, Brewing Lair all day, Grizzly's Grill, Goombas Pizza and Grill, Iron Door Restaurant, Graeagle Meadows breakfast or lunch on the deck, Frosties, Nakoma, Knotty Pine Saloon, Mohawk Tavern, Millworks for breakfast or lunch, and the Outpost for a sandwich, breakfast burrito, or corn dog. There are 3 places for ice cream or milk shakes also. These are all within about 3 miles of our house and in the town of Graeagle. All of these are in our book of things to do we have available at the cabin. Most people choose Graeagle because of it's quaintness and central location to all of the great things the Lost Sierra and Lakes Basin has to offer. Thank you again for staying at our home.
Our stay at this house met our expectations and contributed to a wonderful weekend. The location itself couldn't have been better. The open floor plan was great for our small family gathering, we thoroughly enjoyed the large deck and amenities outside, and the wood burning stove inside was a great add. My only suggestion to the owner is the addition of a rail to hang clothes on in the master bedroom, and perhaps a shelf or dresser for other clothing . We were there for our son's wedding and with the closet locked there was nowhere to hang out nicer clothes and there really wasn't a space for unpacking casual clothes. This made it very cumbersome in what would have otherwise been a great room. It was not a problem because we drove in, but also having to carry out your trash would have been difficult had we flown.

Thank you for your kind words and we are glad you enjoyed our cabin. We understand your desire to be able to hang your clothes in the bedroom. As with most VRBO homes, we use our walk-in closet as our owner's closet for private storage, so we are installing a shelf/clothes rack in addition to a new larger dresser in the master bedroom. Regarding trash removal, since the logistics of removing trash in Graeagle is difficult because the dump is only open on weekends and the garbage pick up is Wednesday, and we can't leave garbage out overnight because of the bears, we are now offering an optional trash removal service. They charge us an extra fee as they have to store the garbage for several homes for several days until the dump opens on weekends and so we will make this an optional fee, if renters want to have them remove the trash. Thank you for your suggestions.
Loved it. The house is beautiful and clean and the neighborhood is quiet. The only complaint I have is the trash arrangement. Renters are responsible for trash removal and the local dump is only open on weekends. We checked out on a Monday and had no idea what to do with our trash. When I asked the owner if there was another option, the answer I got was “not really”. This was a big stress for us. I have never stayed anywhere that expected the guests to dispose of their trash. It has always been the responsibility of the cleaning crew. As it’s immoral and illegal to just dump it on the side of the road or in a dumpster somewhere, we were lucky enough to add it to our children’s rental trash as their rental owners’ cleaning crew took care of the trash. If we didn’t have that option, I don’t know what we would have done. Makes me wonder how long of a wait there is for the cleaning crew to get to the property we rented after checkout.

I'm glad you enjoyed our cabin. I was able to make special arrangements with our housekeeper to remove the trash and let you know around 10 am, but you had already left. In our listing it says that you have to remove or dump your trash. In the mountains we have bears, mountain lions, raccoons, and other critters that frequent the neighborhood and love to spread garbage all over the property. Graeagle has trash pick up on Wed. morning and you can't leave cans out over night. Every VRBO I'm aware of in Graeagle is like this unless you stay in the Golf Course condos. You can't have bear boxes because the garbage pick up will be using robotic arm trucks. We can't leave garbage in the garage for 3 days because the bears will tear off the doors if they smell it. We can't ask our house keeper to store everyone's garbage for half a week or more. We owned a mountain cabin in Donner Lake and have removed our own garbage every trip for 50 years. That's just how it is up here. I'm really sorry for the inconvenience, but that is why we put it in the listing so you know up front. I hope soon we will be able to change this.

My wife and I publish a magazine called HOME Improvement & Remodeling. This is our 26th year. Prior to that she worked at McClellan AFB and I was CFO of Lukenbill Enterprises Commercial Development and Managing Partner of the Sacramento Kings. We have both lived in, or near, Granite Bay, Placer County, for most of our lives. I have done the mountain cabin family vacation my whole life with my parents and siblings and now with my children and grand children. So many memories and good times. We brought friends with us, and still do, and they can honestly say these were the best vacations for all of us. We have hosted VRBO Vacation Homes for over 20 years in the mountains and at the beach. We are so proud of our homes and thrilled to be able to share them with other families and guests so through this Vacation Rentals By Owners Platform. We put a lot of work and effort into making our vacation home exactly what we would want if we were renting a vacation home in Graeagle. Careful thought and consideration go into the location, layout, decorations, improvements, function, themes, and comfort when we make our cabin available to you and your guests,
Why they chose this property
Graeagle has been a part of my life since I was 11. It just can't be beat. We love our woodsy mountain cabin and go there as often as we can. Our closest friends just retired and moved there full time. This cabin was done perfectly as our woodsy mountain cabin. It fits all of our needs and so we thought it would be perfect for those we can share it with.
What makes this property unique
The back deck is awesome. Far enough away from neighbors for privacy, tons of trees, and wild animals roam through all the time being so close to the edge of wilderness. There's a game room with a pool table, 65"TV, wine barrel bar, and lots of games like Mega Jenga, Corn Hole, Darts, Golf putting. We have 2 bicycles, 3 kayaks, available fr your use also. We are on the edge of the neighborhood and across the street is the start of the Lakes Basin Recreation Area, miles and miles of national forest. All bedrooms have their own big screen TVs and wifi so streaming and gaming are available for everyone.
