About this property

Amazing views of Flathead Lake at Eagle's Landing

Luxury home outside Somers located between Kalispell and Lakeside, boasts breathtaking views of Flathead Lake. Glacier National Park only 45mins away and downtown Bigfork 30mins. This beautiful home sits on 5 acres of woodland surrounded by abundant wildlife. Perfect for family reunions, retreats, honeymoons, or those who want to get away from it all. Don't worry about Internet for kids or a little work as it has the fastest business fiber Internet at 1Gbps upload/download.
Guests have access to the entire house with the exception of the mechanical room and two car garage. The guest house to the south of the house is a separate rental property. The travel trailer to the north of the house is used occasionally by the host when staying there.

Although this area is most popular during the Summer the the Spring/Fall is also great and there is less people. Winter is nice if you are into ice fishing, skiing and snowmobiling. The majority of our neighbors around us all have 5+ acres or more so there is lots of privacy. The neighbors are friendly but keep to themselves.

Our house is off Boon Road right outside Somers. The main artery to my neighborhood is Buffalo Trail. When you turn on to Running Bison Lane this is a private road the belongs to my family. We have snow plow company during winter season to ensure vehicles can safely drive to our houses. Both Buffalo Trail and Boon Road also get plowed and sanded during the winter. In the Winter you need a front wheel drive car but we highly recommend 4x4 or AWD vehicle.

The house is equipped with business fiber Internet service provided by Lumen. WiFi 6E tri-band network mesh to ensure you get reliable 1Gbps upload/download internet speeds. Multiple people can do video conferences plus streaming TV with no issues. This is unique because the majority of homes in the area only have DSL or Satellite Internet which support maximum of 10Mbps download and 2Mbps upload too slow for most business travelers much less video streaming.

There is four parking spots near the main house. To park any large vehicles such as RV, mobile home, vehicles with any type of trailer please contact host for permission prior to arrival.

About the host

Host profile image
Scott is a software executive which leads engineers for a publicly traded software company. He has over 25 years working in the tech industry. A digital nomad that roams freely around the world. This house was designed and built by Scott for his taste in entertaining family and friends and he shares his place with others when he's not there.

Why they chose this property

My family has owned property in Somers for over 20 years. I have fond memories of come up to Montana every year to visit. A five acre lot near by my family's property become available and I purchased it. My family's house has one of the most amazing views of Flathead Lake and I wanted to have a I wanted to replicate a similar view. So I walked around my land with a 20 ft ladder to figure out where I would build my dream house.

After two years of planning and construction the end result is what you see here. Every single detail down to the door knobs was decided by me based on my personal taste. I wanted the exterior of the house to look like a log cabin and the interior to be modern craftsman style with simplicity. The house is only 2500 square feet but you won't believe it once you stay here it appears much bigger.

The house was design around my great room, front deck and master bedroom where you will spend the majority of your time when you stay here. I designed this house to entertain friends and family during all seasons. It one of the most amazing houses in the area and you can enjoy it by booking on VRBO.

What makes this property unique

Besides the amazing views of Flathead Lake there is one key things that differentiate my house of all all others in Somers. Because I work in the tech industry I needed a fast reliable Internet connection for work. My system is designed for professionals that want to get away from the rat race but still be able to work periodically.

I was the first and only house according to Lumen within a 20+ mile radius equipped with their business Internet connection using fiber! I personally paid many thousands of dollars to trench and bury fiber optical cable 800+ feet down a mountain to fiber termination.

This has a WiFi network mesh to ensure you get reliable 1Gbps+ upload/download speeds throughout the property. Multiple people can do video conferences plus streaming TV with no issues. All my network equipment is business grade (Ubiquiti) rack mounts on UPS backup.

The majority of houses in this area only have DSL or Satellite Internet that only support a maximum of 10Mbps download and 1-2Mbps upload too slow for most business travelers much less 4k video streaming.
