Family Reunion Waterfront Paradise! Private Lake. Boats included!
Evergreen Camp is set on Silver Lake, a calm, private lake across the street from Cranberry Lake. Evergreen Camp is a family-oriented, historic hunting lodge with 8 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. There is a small beach and a grassy shoreline with sandy lake bottom - small children easily wade into the lake. The large, well-equipped kitchen and ample seating make it easy to cook for and serve the whole, big family in style. Set right on the water with panoramic views of the lake and islands. There are plenty of boats: 2 canoes, large rowboat, kayak, and stand-up board; 2 boat docks and a floating dock (for diving). The great room is large enough to handle the 'whole crowd' for meals. Any overflow is easily accommodated on the large screened porch. 2 refrigerators, 2 stoves, two gas-grills, and a barbeque pit make cooking for a crowd easy. The beds are all real beds (with comfortable mattresses) in actual bedrooms with doors that shut, for your 'good night's sleep' and privacy. The private Silver Lake Shoreowners' nature trails include sections that can be walked by everyone from the very young to the very old. One master bedroom and a walk-in shower on first floor provide ease of access for those who need it. Enjoy a peaceful, family spot in Northwoods paradise. Pets considered. IF YOU MIND THE OCCASIONAL COBWEB OR HAVE TROUBLE CHANGING A LIGHT BULB BY YOURSELF, THIS IS NOT THE PLACE FOR YOU!!! Also, please note that we only rent by the week from Mid-June to Mid-September. Please contact us for more You Tube Links to tours of the cabins or go to "Google Sites Evergreen Camp". Property damage policy is required to rent our camp.

Great rustic house and cabin. Plenty of rooms so everyone could get away and have their own space. Short walk down the hill to our private beach and two docks. No TV to distract people, just lots of card games into the night.

Liked: Check-in, communication, location
Disliked: Cleanliness
Very Rustic
Our family of 11 adults and 1 toddler had an average stay here. PROS: The screened porch and lakefront are very nice. The kitchen is adequately stocked for cooking. There is lots of room for hanging out. CONS: It is quite rustic with two of the bedrooms not having any outlets to plug in lamps, fans, electronics, etc. There is no hot tub. The coin-op laundry is at the general store about 1 mile away, not on-site. The refrigerator in the main cabin needed a thorough cleaning. The listing mentions a few cobwebs but the place could absolutely use a thorough cleaning.
We were not impressed with this place. It was more expensive than other rentals we've used and it was just not as nice for the price.

We regret you had problems with your stay. We do not advertise a hot tub or washing machine. E do send out a video walk-through of both cabins so people can understand that the venue lacks some amenities.

The ultimate in relaxing!!
We had our family reunion at Evergreen Camp and it was perfect. Plenty of space and activites for all! Wendy and Bill were very attentive to the details of the cabins and we found both Pine Bank and Little Ben accurate to their description, comfortable and well equipped for cooking, entertainment and sleeping. The lake is so quiet and peaceful, all (from age 2 to 64) had fun swimmimg, boating, and fishing and we even saw Loons. The hiking is family friendly in the area, hiked around Silver Lake, Bear Mountain (in the Cranberry State Park across the street (has a great beach area too)), Tooley Pond, Rainbow Falls and Mt. Arab. The Cranberry Lake Lodge is across the street and has delicious food, and the ice cream shop is in walking distance and was a frequent retreat. A camp store is within a 1/2 mile and has just about anything you'll need and the prices are very fair. Wendy could not have been more helpful with the many questions we bombarded her with, she quickly responded and gave us the infomation we needed and when we had a plumbing problem during our stay it was handled immediately. If you are looking for a relaxing and fun getaway and you can handle a few bugs, this is your place, we highly recommend this property. ENJOY!!

Thanks for the kind words. We are glad you enjoyed the camp as much as we do & are always happy when our guests are happy, too!
We stayed at the cabins with our extended family for a week in July. Silver lake is wonderful- it's rare to have an Adirondack lake that is that serene yet very accessible! This is a great place to stay with a large group to get away and get back to basics.
My whole family (16 people) rented this property. We were amazed by the location on this beautiful secluded lake. There were many boats to use to explore it and we did a lot of fishing and paddling around it. The floating swim dock was really fun for all ages. We also enjoyed the hike around the lake!
The cabins are older but suited being right on the lake. We loved the screened in porch for games at night and the huge window that my elderly grandma sat at all day and watched everyone from above. There were enough beds for everyone and many were very new.
We had a plumbing issue during our stay but Wendy was on top of it and sent someone out to fix it. Overall we had a wonderful trip and would love to come back again!
Four different family groups stayed together on the property. Listing is accurate with descriptions. From property we visited Lake Placid, Tupper Lake, Alexandria Bay/ 1,000 Islands, and rented a motor boat from the local store on Cranberry Lake

Thanks for the lovely review. We are glad you had a good time!!!
My family and I (9 Adults, 1 Two Year Old) stayed for a week for our first large family vacation. It was a great property for those who want some lake time and space to sleep. The main areas were a little small for us all to gather comfortably but overall there was lots of different spaces for people to hang out. It was also awesome that this property was doggie friendly, we really appreciated that. This property is tough for anyone with mobility issues as the lake is down a pretty steep hill. They some some nice stairs but it still is tough to navigate. Overall we had a great time and would recommend this property for a family who enjoys the outdoors, boating, and being active!

Hi, Dana, Vey sorry you had some disappointments about our place. We encourage all potential visitors to view the walk-through videos of our cabins and grounds where all the rooms and the ramp-style steps to the lake are shown. If you think we could improve the video, please let me know. We want all of our renters to be fully happy with the camp.
This was a beautiful property and lake. We loved everything about the place. Our children; grandchildren and great grandchild all enjoyed this vacation. We have decided the lake experience is better than our beach vacations!
The place was great, we had both cabins which was ideal. If you have a large family gathering, this is the place for you! So many bedrooms, all with comfy beds too and plenty of blankets. There was plenty of room for all of us to eat and play games in the main house when it rained. It was very clean when we arrived and pleasantly surprised to find lots of napkins, paper towels and toilet paper there. Plenty of dishes and it was great to have a dish washer! The screened in porch has an awesome view of the lake and big enough table for several people. We enjoyed the kayaks, canoes, paddleboard and of course the floating dock was a huge bonus! The lake was weed free and nice to walk into water with sandy bottom. Very few people out and we felt like we had the whole lake to ourselves! We had a problem with no hot water, but Wendy called a plumber immediately and it was taken care of within a couple of hours. Our dogs really enjoyed being free to roam the entire property being fenced in. There was plenty of propane tanks for the 2 grills, as well as plenty of firewood, another nice surprise. Nice flat area for corn hole next to Little Ben cabin too. Truly felt like we were staying in someone's home and not just a rental! Thank you.

So happy you enjoyed our place!!! It's our home away from home. Sorry about the hot water heater. Thanks for letting us know. Glad we were able to get it fixed promptly, and that you had a good vacation.
The small private lake makes this special. The homeowners provided kayaks, paddleboards, a canoe and rowboat; we used them all every day. They were very communicative about a small maintenance issue, too. The house is rustic and not isolated, but feels private. Location is great. Thanks!
The camp has just about everything you need to enjoy a stay in ADK. The fishing and swimming in both Silver (smallmouths) and Cranberry (northerns) is great. If you have kids, a visit to the Wild Center in Tupper is a must. The loons are as good as any camp I stayed at in ADK or Canada. This was our 2nd year at this camp and we are looking forward to a 3rd.

Wonderful Relaxing Getaway
Our family spent a blissful week at Pine Bank Cabin. It’s a proper lakefront, Adirondack “camp,” with access to two lakes and plenty of trails for hiking. The house was wonderful to come back to after being on the water all day: well equipped kitchen, plenty of areas for us to be together, yet lots of space to go off for some privacy. The owners were super helpful, with lots of suggestions of activities in the area.
We loved the tranquility of the cottage and the surrounding nature. Hope to return next summer. Thank you!

Wow! The perfect place for our family reunion!
An excellent price! Lots of space with an impressively equipped kitchen. TWO beautiful, clean lakes to swim, boat, fish, hike & listening to the loons! We loved making wish boats & doing tie dye too. Count me in for summer 2017.

The perfect relaxing vacation!
This was exactly what we needed. 10 adults and 3 kids swam in the lake, paddled canoes, and caught lots of fish. Having perfect weather is always a bonus. The cabins were very cozy with plenty of room to find a quiet spot when needed. The kitchen was well stocked and there was no need for paper plates, etc.
We took several hikes throughout the park and photographed some beautiful waterfalls. Wendy and Bill provided all the info we needed to enjoy our stay.
If you want a "rustic" cabin, right on the water of a private lake with no gas motors, this is your place. More excitement is a short drive away in the Tupper Lake area. We will be back!

Thanks, Larry, for your lovely words about our place. So happy your family is coming back this summer!!! Our family will be there in August & plans to try doing the Cranberry Lake 50 hikes (in segments). Some of us will just go canoeing at dawn to hang out with the loons. The Nature Center in Tupper Lake is also on our to-do list. It is supposed to be wonderful!
About the host
Hosted by Wendy Insinger
We (Bill & Wendy) began renting a camp on Silver Lake in summer of 1993. It was love at first sight for our whole family. We were thrilled by the 'Forever Wild' northwoods feeling of the place, yet felt very comfortable with our young children hiking the well-groomed trails and learning to swim and boat in the quiet waters of Silver Lake. We loved adventuring into the surrounding wild forests, paddling the tranquil waters, swimming at all hours, and feeling very free, yet very cozy, at the same time. Eventually, we were fortunate to be able to buy our historic camp from the Dreby Family, a family whose on-going stewardship of the environment has preserved the natural beauty, the environmental integrity, and the peaceful ambiance of Silver Lake.
Why they chose this property
Wendy grew up summering on Conneaut Lake, the largest freshwater lake in Pennsylvania. She and the other members of her clan claim that they have lakewater running through their veins. She was spellbound by the spiritual aspects of the lake, its spring-fed freshness, and abundant wildlife. Bill is not a lake person, but felt comfortable canoeing on its inviting, deserted waters. It also matched his New York City Boy's image of what an Adirondack Lake should be like - visions of Indian Princesses canoeing around from the other side of a pine-crested island come to mind. Both were thrilled to be able to teach their children, now adults, how to swim, boat, and appreciate nature in an environ that was wild and, yet, somewhat protected. The tradition continues each summer, as extended family, from great-grandmother (Bill's mom) to great grandchildren, gather to savor the joys of outdoor life and family fun.
What makes this property unique
Great for large family groups. Big fire pit by the lake, for cooking or just plain campfires. Gas grills make outdoor cooking easy, as well. Easy ingress (only 2 steps) into the cabin and ground floor bedrooms ideal for infirm/elderly people. Ramp style steps with railing lead down to lake. Very accessible shoreline and trails. Many close, easy, short (one mile) hikes with great destinations that hikers of all abilities can enjoy. Many Intermediate mountain hikes (Bear Mt., Mt. Arab, Tooley Pond Mt.) and Challenging hikes (The Cranberry Lake 50), for the more outdoorsy members of your party. Wonderful screened porch for reading, sitting, eating, and watching the lake. Wade into lake - shallow and sandy near shore. Separate, small cabin for those who appreciate privacy. 4 bathrooms (one in basement). Fenced yard for pets and small children. Floating dock, plus two stationary docks, lots of different outdoor places for people to hang out. Sit-down meal seating available for 16 people. 2 fridges and 2 stoves. 3rd ('beer fridge', aka, '# fridge') in basement.
