About this property

Historic farmstead, private access to the Green River

This farmstead was added to the National Historic Register of Places about 15 years ago, after award-winning restoration work was done on all four remaining structures.

The property was part of a land grant given to Jonathan Clark for his Revoluntionary War service. Three of the remaining original buildings on the property date from 1847 - the Main house (with the addition of the ell at the rear of the house and the addition of weather boarding to just prior to 1850); the Smokehouse; and the Livestock barn. The Large Mule barn was built circa 1903 to accommodate a large mule trading business.

Bruce, the owner who has brought this place back to life and opened it up to visitors, loves this farmstead. It is not a slick vacation rental, but it is perfect in its imperfections. Being here connects you to history, to the natural world, to the regional culture and flavor. It's a good place to breathe deep and slow down.
