Built in red brick in 16th century and partly rebuilt in 19th century, the château combines French history with unusual accommodation (in the form of 2 gypsy caravans). Accommodation for up to 13 people on 2 sites, just 3 minutes' walk apart in lovely grounds. On one side: Jeannette, gîte on ground floor of château. On other side: Rhapsodie and Romantique, gypsy caravans. You can eat together either in gîte or outdoors. 4 bedrooms in total. 2 bedrooms in gîte Jeannette (double bed, French-style parquet floor) (double bed, double sofa bed, period cement tile floor). 2 other bedrooms in caravans. Romantique caravan: bedroom for 4 people (double bed, single bed with pull-out bed below). Rhapsodie caravan: 2 private spaces (double bed) (2 single beds).|Enjoy a dip in large swimming pool with secure access (gate with key). Relax in well-being Pod (book ahead). Pod with children's games room. Wooded grounds with cedar tree, orchard, arbour all open to occupants of gîte/caravans. The château de la Griffonière is near Macon, easily accessible (10 minutes from motorway exit) yet in peaceful setting.
