The Pyrénées-Atlantiques (Béarn) 5kms away: 30kms from Pau (its Château) and the vineyards of Jurançon - 45 minutes from the Ossau Valley (the little train of Artouste) and via the Col du Pourtalet at our Spanish friends to buy cigarettes and cheap alcohol.
An interesting loop: start via the Vallée de Ferrières 64, climb to the Col d'Aubisque and descend via the Col du Soulor 65 - Val d'Azun and Argelès-Gazost
