This 2 bedroom cabin with bonus loft for additional sleeping space is located on a quiet cul de sac at Schuss Mountain in Shanty Creek Resort. The cabin boasts many upgrades in the kitchen and living area. Rest assured, you will sleep well in one of our two king sized beds. For those traveling with larger parties our loft area (bedroom 3) includes a full size bed with a plush mattress for your comfort. Don’t forget to take full advantage of our wood burning fireplace during those colder seasons. The adventure does not stop within the cottage though. If you prefer to stay near the resort, you will love the endless opportunities Shanty Creek has to offer. Year round excitement including 5 renowned golf courses, both down hill and cross country skiing, alpine tubing, chair lift rides for fall color tours, trails to hike and bike, an outdoor pool, and an onsite shopping village with restaurants and bars including Starbucks. This convenient location in Bellaire is within an hour to popular northern Michigan destinations such as Traverse City, Petoskey, and Charlevoix. But if you prefer to stay in town, downtown Bellaire is home to many unique shops as well as great local food and beverage options including the very popular Short’s Brewing, Bee Well Meadery, Hello Vino, and Mammoth Distilling. Do not pass up the chance to have the ultimate experience here in the heart of northern Michigan.

**Please note that there are 2 flights of stairs to access the cabin with only 1 railing in some areas.**

Our cabin includes access to:
1. The Kliffendorf neighborhood outdoor hooted pool (seasonal) as well as parking for trailers, boats, etc. These are both only a short 5 minute walk.
2. Heated outdoor pool (seasonal), and heated indoor pool and hot tub at Lakeview Hotel. This is located about 10 minutes from the cabin.
4. Free and safe resort shuttle that runs between the Lakeview Hotel and downtown Bellaire.

Location, location, location
Staying with us means you are right in the heart of Shanty Creek Resort. This means year round fun including:
1. Shanty Town which is right outside of the Lakeview Hotel and includes restaurants and the Shanty Bar.
2. Down hill skiing, snowboarding, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and alpine tubing.
3. Golf at 1 of the 5 golf courses - The Legend, Cedar River, Schuss Mountain, Summit, or Hawks Eye. There is also the Chief Golf Course that is located just outside of the Shanty Creek properties.
4. Topgolf Game Suite which also includes other games and sports. This is located at Cedar River.
5. Hiking trails.
6. Chair lift fall color tours.
7. Indoor and outdoor pools and hot tubs.

Staying with us means that you are also in the heart of Northern Michigan! From the Cabin you are near many wineries and within an hour to the famous Old Mission Peninsula and Leelanau Peninsula. You'll only be 35 minutes from Turtle Creek Casino and an hour from Odawa Casino. Take a day to explore the unique towns nearby. Less than an hour away you'll find Alden, Elk Rapids, Traverse City, Charlevoix, and Petoskey. Other trips that are about 1 1/2 hours away include Mackinac Island and Sleeping Bear Dunes. The possibilities are endless!

My husband and I and two boys came up for a few days of skiing and it was a perfect place to stay. One mile to Schuss Mtn. Place was clean beds comfy fire pit out back was a plus! Kitchen had everything you needed to cook meals and nice size refrigerator. Navid and Julie were very easy to get a hold of for any questions. Thanks for a great winter getaway.

Cute cabin that was great for our family. Our host Navid was amazing and having access to Shanty and Schuss pools and amenities was perfect for our kids. Great early fall getaway!

Really well updated and maintained cabin. The view outside is nice and private, and we really liked using the fireplace when it got cooler at night. It was just my wife and I, but the place felt very cozy and yet still large enough if we had more people with us. The location was spot on as well as it's right in the middle of everything, and short drive to Shorts (we love beer!). Definitely recommend the stay for anyone going up to Northern Michigan!

The place was very clean and comfortable! There were also very easy to find and use amenities included with the rental such as the Shanty creek resort indoor/outdoor pools. Great location for a trip to up north Michigan, with ability to take day trips to several spots nearby. It was plenty of room for our family of 5. The included firewood also made it super easy to have a fire to make smores at night!

Listed as cabin - it was a condo

Listed as a “cabin”. It’s a condo, you share a driveway and steep walkway with a neighbor. The steep staircase to access the front door was not noted for the property. We would have not rented this VRBO had it been properly described. The A/C unit is only in the main living area and does not cool the 2 main floor bedrooms, even with the 2 mediocre fans provided ( our stay the first weekend in June) . We would have left but as we were 4 hours from home - and had reservation obligations for a family event, we had no other option but the dated Lakeview hotel - which they list as “amenities”. Don’t let them fool you - the hotel indoor/outdoor pool they list is not easily accessible (multiple stairs and was last updated in the 70’s was dated. So the “perk” they list with the $500 fee for replacement key is laughable. The owner stated they would update their VRBO listing. The private pool in the complex was small, nice, and the most notable amenity they should have led with. Although we are familiar with the wide lens - and we noted the square footage - the outdoor patio/fire pit is only accessible via the master bedroom door or the outdoor walkway, which the decking was unstable. The “dumpsters” at the end of the street, which you are responsible for emptying your trash to prior to vacating were overflowing. Side note - When we arrived the kitchen trash was not emptied. Not a big deal but for the price and cleaning fees - if you expect it from me, I expect it from you.

Peaceful forest family retreat!

If you're looking for a relaxing place to getaway with the family, this is it! There are separate rooms/areas for when we each needed some alone time, as well as the open kitchen and living room that led to fun family time. The owners were quick to respond to our requests as well. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils and housewares so we could bring our own food and make meals on site. We'd highly recommend this property!
