About this property

Under New Management! THE PORCH CABIN @ Camp Verde Springs

The Porch Cabin at Camp Verde Springs offers a perfect combination of fun, relaxation, and location.

Nestled in the hills between Kerrville and Bandera (both are a 20 minute drive), Camp Verde Springs is located on 20+ acres with a Pavillion, Pickleball court and pond (currently down due to drought) near the cabin. The property also accommodates deer, wild turkeys, geese (in season) and Wagyu cows! NOTE: Unfortunately the pond is UNUSABLE at this time, due to the severe drought TX has experienced. We pray for rain by next Spring! Pickleball is a great game, enjoyed by all ages. We supply paddles and balls in a box on the court.

The Porch Cabin is well stocked, and has all the amenities you would need for a comfortable stay. WiFi & Smart TV's, Washer & Dryer, Linens & Blankets, Dishes & Silverware...all the necessities are provided.

Along with its close proximity to Bandera (Cowboy Capital of the World) and Kerrville (restaurants, wineries, dance venues, parks, Guadalupe River), the property is also within an hour of the popular town of Fredericksburg, which is well known for its wineries, shopping, and museums.

Within 10 miles of the property are various entry points to the Guadalupe River. Nearby Bandera provides a guest favorite in floating the Medina River, when the river is up.

Come see all the Porch Cabin at Camp Verde Springs has to offer! Book your stay now!

Should you have a multi-family event, we also offer the Creekside nearby. It is a three bedroom, two bath modular home with a beautiful deck (great for star gazing). Don’t let the term “modular” fool you, the inside is beautiful!

And soon (hopefully by December 2022) we will have completed our renovation on the “Pickle Haus”! It is a three bedroom, two bath rock home with a huge kitchen and great room, perfect for entertaining!

Although the home is beautiful and had what we needed, it was dirty. The bathrooms, especially toilet/ floor area, were gross. The sheets had hair( animal hair?) all over them and we had to change the linens ourselves. The kitchen table had crumbs all over it. I let the property manager know, and I have still not heard back.

Nice out-of-the-way property
This was a nice, mostly clean, well appointed, secluded property. Although most of the property was very clean and comfortable, one of the guest bedrooms had someone's dirty socks and some dead bugs in it so I assumed it had not been cleaned. Check-in was not as smooth as I'm used to at VRBOs. I received no check in instructions, so called the host 5 minutes before check in time and she seemed bit overwhelmed. My call was met with “can I call you back”. vs "hello". She did call right back and asked what property I had rented. They had us as staying in a different house in Kerrville, but it was not a problem she said, and fortunately we were still a couple of hours out so she had time to send gate and door codes. The host was very kind and pleasant once we established connection. She even texted the next morning to say that they didn't have anyone coming on Sunday so to take our time checking out, which was much appreciated. The instructions to the house said to pass the pond on the right and the house was on the hill. Make sure you go to the highest house on the hill to the to the left of the gravel road. I mistakenly walked up to the lower house on the right and stepped on a dead rotted jackrabbit squarely on the welcome mat. Overall a very nice stay despite a few bumps.

Ladies weekend
When we arrived, no cleaning had been done after prior guests had left. We were moved to other property, which was very nice! Not quite ready for guests, as we were told, no oven was available, which I was hoping t o use. Other than that, we did enjoy our stay.

Excellent Host & Beautiful House
There was an emergency with the cleaning staff, and this host went above and beyond to make sure we had a place to stay. No AT&T service in the area made the check in difficult but we got it figured out. We didn’t stay in the house we had booked but in the house next door which is big and beautiful and being redone. Again, this host was great, and I wouldn’t hesitate to stay in on of their properties again.
