La Marine de Sant Ambroggio is situated right on the coast, nestled around a magnificent bay with a small, picturesque marina and a fine-sand beach.
The Balagne train runs through the village and takes you to all the nearby beaches between Calvi and Île-Rousse, or further afield to Bastia, Corte, and Ajaccio.
You’ll find small local shops (convenience store, bakery, restaurant, hair salon) in Cocody Village, as well as a restaurant, café, ice cream shop, butcher shop, bakery, convenience store, newsstand, hair salon, petrol station—car and boat rentals at the Sant Ambroggio marina.
For activities, you’ll find boat tours, a diving school at the marina, a pétanque court, and boat rentals in the village.
For beach lovers, there’s Sant Ambroggio Beach, the coves of the Spano Nature Reserve 2 km away, Algajola Beach (known for surfing and sailing) 3 km away, and other beaches all along the coast between Cavi and Ile Rousse.
Sant Ambroggio is also ideal for walks and hikes in the surrounding area or in the mountains; the famous GR 20 long-distance hiking trail begins in Calenzana, about 15 km from Sant Ambroggio.
If you love nature, you can take a walk in the Bonifatu Forest, a 20-minute drive away, or go for a swim in the natural pools of the Fango River, 45 minutes away.
