Palafolls is located on the edge of the Costa del Maresme, which forms a long, narrow coastal strip that begins north of the city of Barcelona and stretches between the slopes of the coastal mountains and the Mediterranean Sea to the picturesque Costa Brava. The mountains protect the long sandy beaches and fishing villages from the northerly winds and provide a mild Mediterranean climate all year round.
