About this property

Spacious, three-story home ideal for larger groups and family reunions. Pets welcome with pet fee to cover housecleaning up charge. Multiple bedrooms, bathrooms on each floor, and a separate kitchenette on the basement floor. Large dining room for family meals, a library and lots of nooks for reading or working remotely.

Huge family room in the basement with games (board games and an arcade console), large TV for movies and sports, plus a laundry room with free machines for guests.

Front and back porches for lounging about and a large yard for outdoor games plus a firepit for hanging out at night. Steps from the service road to Warren Dunes Beach and Park, plus easy drive to all that beautiful Harbor Country has to offer.

Note during the week holding July 4: not recommended for those with pets or people uncomfortable with fireworks. The neighbors put on quite a display! Also note Chikaming Township ordinance only allows up to four cars per rental property.

Whole family vacation

The home had plenty of room for our 3 family vacation. Plenty of space for everyone to relax and have privacy when desired. We appreciated tables inside and out where we could all eat together. Also the large amount of plates and silverware as we ate our meals at the house. Beach toys and towels are provided along with games and puzzles. Great location just a short walk from Warren Dunes. The owner was easy to reach and responded promptly. An amazing place that we would definitely stay at again.

A wonderful little hideaway with amazing owners

Let me just start out by saying my family and I have been coming to this area for over 30 years, starting out by renting cabins at a campground and now we rent homes by multigenerational families. We have moved around from house to house for various reasons but this house and the owner, Mary, take the absolute cake. Upon arrival, Mary herself and her cleaning crew were just finishing up after what seemed to be a bit of a snag with the original cleaning crew, but Mary was extremely accommodating and allowed us to get the kids out to play in the spacious backyard while they finished up. Later that evening, we realized that the fridge was not coming back up to temperature so I quickly communicated with Mary through text and she immediately responded, even bringing us coolers with ice so we could keep our frozen items cold. The next day, when it was clear the fridge was broken. Mary was quick to get a new fridge on order for next day delivery and to communicate any needs we might have before the delivery. The delivery definitely was not as smooth as anyone would have wanted but when is it? Mary, her husband, and their ever trusty handy man fixed the issue and got us back on our feet. A partial refund was given to us and highly appreciated, if only to compensate for some lost beach time and ice purchased. The rest of the time was thankfully a breeze and we would happily rent from Mary again!

Excellent stay in this updated, beautiful home!

We are a party of 14, including two children ages 3 and 5. The house is tastefully decorated and stocked with all that you need. The area is beautiful and quiet. We enjoyed mostly being at the house sitting around the fire pit and preparing meals together. The owner was extremely responsive to all the questions we had. Hope you consider this property. It is well worth it!

Great location, house, and host

Stayed for a girl's trip, had a lovely time. House was as described, great indoor and outdoor spaces, lots of helpful information provided in the guest book, and Mary (host) was great! Short walk to the beach and centrally located for shopping, wineries, and restaurants. Would definitely stay again!

New Years Getaway

My college friends and I (four couples) come together annually. Our New Years stay at this property was perfect for us! We loved the spacious house, the enchanting interior design and the many gathering spots - we used them all! Games in three different hangout spaces were a perfect way to mix it up and long walks around the neighborhood and the dunes was a perfect stretch of the legs. We couldn't stop getting excited everytime we saw the deer prancing around!

Great place!

This home is so spacious with so many areas to gather for a large family. The kitchen has everything you would ever need and more. Plenty of books and games for all ages, including the Pac-Man game. The host, Mary, was wonderful to work with. We would highly recommend this rental, with its close proximity to the Warren dunes and wooded hiking paths.

Charming Cottage

Dunes Edge Retreat is a charming and spacious cottage that was just perfect for our group of eight seniors. The house is surprisingly large, yet cozy. We enjoyed the spacious, well appointed kitchen and dining room and spent most of our time outside around the firepit. Everyone commented on how comfortable the beds were and the entire house was clean as a whistle! It was a pleasure to work with Mary, the property host. She was very accommodating and responsive. We look forward to staying here again!

Blast at the beach!

This was a great rental for our large family! The owner is very reliable. It's located a half mile from the state park where the sand on the Lake Michigan beach is therapeutic. What we appreciated most is how well stocked it was with paper products, cleaning supplies, beach toys, etc. It had everything we needed, including a fire pit with abundant seating, a grill, picnic table, etc! Something for everyone, adults and kids alike. Local parks, splash pad, pickleball, kid friendly wineries and a handful of good restaurants.

Family summer vacation

Ten of us stayed at Mary’s home for a week of fun and relaxation. The house was very spacious and accommodated all ages in our group. We played many games, laughed a lot, walked to the beach, and enjoyed local wineries. We would definitely return!

Family Vacation

Beautiful setting for vacation with 3 generations of our family. This was our 2nd time staying here and was enjoyed just as much as the first time. Plenty of room for fun together or for moments alone. Easy, short accessibility to Lake Michigan for bach fund and awesome sunsets.

Wonderful family vacation week

Second year we stay at this house for our annual family vacation with 2 grandparents, 4 parents, and 4 kids. We had a great time! The house is a great fit for our group size. Love the ease walking/driving to the lake and to Warren Dunes state park. Mary is very responsive with any needs though we didn't have many this time around. Highly recommend!

A beautiful beach vacation!

This home was wonderful for our yearly family gathering between my siblings, our respective families, and our parents. (Five couples all together). The home has five wonderful bedrooms. Two in the basement (One w/ queen, One w/ 2 queens). On the main floor, one bedroom with a queen. Two upstairs (One w/ queen, One with 2 queens). There was a bathroom on each floor. There was a living space in the basement and the main floor, which allowed for us all to spread out amongst the house! As well, the back porch is so spacious and we sat out there nearly every day, all day. The home is literally next door to Warren Dunes State Park. An incredible collection of beaches on Lake Michigan. The house is packed with beach supplies. The yard was amazing for the kids to run around in and play. The home was clean, beautifully decorated, and has everything you needed. The location was so peaceful.

Great getaway

Great getaway! Our friends and family enjoyed a nice quiet weekend getaway. The house is very close to Warren dunes, and had everything we needed to go to the beach. The host is extremely responsive, and attentive. Our get away was everything we hoped it would be!

Family Christmas Gift Getaway

We had a wonderful time of togetherness! The property was set up beautifully to accomodate all 13 of us. Because everyone had their own space, if some solitude was neccessary, it was easy to attain. We did a lot of cookimg, eating and laughing! Mary was always so kimd and helpful. She is a great host who has thought of everything! What a great week!

Family Get Away

We really enjoyed our family time away over the Thanksgiving Holiday. Layout of the home was awesome for families, with a good amount of space and ability to have privacy at the same time. Great location to the State Park and the little towns of Sawyer, and New Buffalo, MI.

A relaxing weekend getaway

Mary's property was absolutely perfect and beautiful! We decided to take a weekend trip with Family to recharge and reconnect. We enjoyed the grounds and the awesome kitchen cooking away during our stay. The rooms provided plenty of space for all 13 of us with more than enough room. Mary was responsive and a wonderful host. Will plan to stay here again in the future. If you're looking for a beautiful place with plenty of room and amenities close to Chicago and the Dunes, this is definitely the place to stay.
