About this property

Charming detached country house with large garden, dogs welcome

The kitchen and living area are on the ground floor, and there is a bathroom and sleeping facilities for 2 - 3 people in the converted attic. An external staircase leads from here directly into the garden. In the living area we have a pull-out couch, where another 1-2 people can sleep as needed. For cooler evenings, stoves are available on both levels.
The terrace offers space to chill and grill. The closest neighbors are the cows on the adjacent meadow.

A high-speed internet connection with the possibility of a TV stream is available. You will also find a Blu-Ray player and various DVDs. If you love peace and nature, want a break from city life and want to explore the surroundings, our house is just right for you!
We also like to rent for a long time, preferably in the off-season ...

Well, what a fabulous place! Full of character and French charm and in such a lovely rural location, not dissimilar to where we live…absolutely perfect. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and meeting Lesley and René next door too..thank you both for your hospitality…we will definitely be back!

Cosy peaceful getaway

Staying at this property was a wonderful experience. I would consider staying again and I have many fond memories of our vacation here. Correspondence with the owners was always swift and informative. The house itself is very pretty, cosy and peaceful. Well located. Great to spend time in the garden watching the cows in the neighbouring field. Nice to walk in the country lanes. With permission we brought our two dogs who very much loved the area and the experience of the French countryside. A vacation I will always remember with a smile.

Lovely quiet small French cottage

Overall this is a nice place. there is a really big garden which has potential to be excellent but seems overrun with nettles and weeds. The trees also could use some pruning. The inside is a bit dark but also cool compared to outside. So can be very pleasant after a day in the sun. The stair are very steep and not easy if you’re unsteady on your feet. There is everything you need for a nice stay just could do with a freshening up. I would say my biggest gripe is the bathroom. There is a shower head but no where to put it on the wall also there is no ceiling just some bamboo sticks rested on the walls. There doesn’t seem any reason to not have at least an electric shower fitted. Overall I enjoyed my stay here and really like the area but next time I’ll look somewhere else

Dear James, the reason we didn’t fit an electric shower is that we don’t want it. We like this very old house with its Charme and authenticity. We don’t want a solid bathroom ceiling as we like the open roof truss. We love the garden with the old trees, the nettles spots for the insects ( by purpose ) and the weeds around the trees. The cottage is our hideaway, a little treasure. So we will continue with that atmosphere and are sorry that you expected something else. Best regards

A delightfully cute but rustic gite in beautiful countryside

The gite was everything we wished for and more. If you want to disappear from the stresses of everyday life then this is the place to stay. The gite was tastefully decorated with an old world charm and had a vintage feel about the place. The WiFi never let us down so we could sit in the delightful garden listening to music whilst drinking a glass of wine. Our little dog loved to explore the garden as well so she also enjoyed herself. There is plenty to see but be prepared to drive around if you want to explore the area or cycle if you’re more adventurous. There was no welcome pack on arrival so arrive with supplies but there are supermarkets in the area that stock everything, plus local bakeries in the area. The gite does not have a washing machine or freezer but we weren’t concerned about that. We would like to express our thanks to Rene and Lesley (our lovely neighbours/gite caretakers) for being so informative about the history of the gite and the area, plus offering us advice on where to visit. Their guidance was much appreciated.

Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt sehr genossen, das Landhaus ist wunderschön gestaltet, sauber und gepflegt, sehr gut ausgestattet und umgeben von einem herrlichen Garten. Absolut empfehlenswert wenn man die Ruhe und das Landleben schätzt. Viele Möglichkeiten zum Radeln und zur Erkundung dieses Teils der Normandie. Vielen Dank!

Kurz und knapp: es war schön dort.Bei unserer Ankunft wurden wir herzlich vom Nachbarn begrüßt, der uns alles zeigte. Die Kommunikation vorab mit den Vermietern hat auch sehr gut funktioniert.Das Anwesen ist wirklich wunderschön, der Garten riesig und wer Ruhe sucht ist dort genau richtig. Bis auf ein paar Kühe, die sich ab und an melden (was aber nicht stört), war es sehr ruhig.Das Haus ist liebevoll renoviert. Im Vergleich zu anderen Häusern vielleicht nicht ganz so komfortabel, das muss jeder selbst für sich entscheiden. Wir fanden das EG etwas dunkel, trotz Sonne und Sommer und haben uns lieber draußen oder im oberen Geschoss aufgehalten. Die Treppe ins OG ist wirklich ziemlich steil.Letztendlich waren wir viel unterwegs.

Wundervoller Rückzugsort

Dieses kleine Häuschen mitten in der Normandie ist ein wundervoller um runterzukommen und trotzdem viele nette Dinge zu unternehmen. Die Terrasse und der Garten läd bei schönem Wetter zum Verweilen ein. Rundherum sind fast jeden Tag Märkte und das Meer ist auch nicht so weit weg. Durch die super ausgestattete Küche konnte ich die Markteinkäufe verarbeiten. Das Bett ist superbequem und ich habe teilweise geschlafen wie ein Baby. Allerdings war ich froh meinen Schlafsack dabei zu haben (mache ich immer, weil wir eine Decke für zwei nicht gewohnt sind :-)), weil es in den Nächten doch immer noch ziemlich kalt gewesen ist. Auf dem Sofa vorm Kamin hat er auch gute Dienste geleistet.Alles in allem hatte ich erst eine wundervolle Woche allein und dann eine mindestens genausoschöne Woche zu zweit.

Süßes Cottage in ruhiger Lage mit tollem Garten

Das kleine Ferienhaus entspricht genau der Beschreibung. Es hat einen tollen eingezäunten Garten, der super für Hunde geeignet ist. Die Kommunikation mit der Gastgeberin war super einfach und schnell. Die Lage ist sehr ruhig und man sollte etwas Fahrzeit zu den Sehenswürdigekeiten einplanen. Grundsätzlich sind viele Orte aber dennoch gut mit Auto erreichbar. Ein kleiner Hinweis für Leute mit Hund: die innenliegende Treppe konnte mein Hund nicht alleine laufen. Ich habe konnte ihn die Treppe hochtragen. Da es aber auch eine Außentreppe gibt war das kein Problem.

Romantisches Haus mit einem tollen Garten

Mit Eintritt in das Häuschen ist man in einem anderem Jahrhundert mit dem Komfort von Heute. Es ist gemütlich und mit liebevollen Details eingerichtet. Es ist alles da was man als Selbstversorger braucht. Wir und unsere Hunde haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Der große Garten ist super und rundrum Hundesicher. Man ist ja mitten auf dem Lande und jeder der Ruhe sucht ist hier richtig. Wir haben etliche Ausflüge unternommen: St. Mont Michel, Saint Malo, Omaha Beach, Granville und an den Stränden kann man super laufen. Allerdings sollte man sich im Klaren sein, dass man dafür immer mindestens 40km fahren muss. Uns hat das nichts ausgemacht. Zum Einkaufen gibt es im nächsten Ort ca.3km einen super Bäcker und kleinere Geschäfte. Große Supermärkte findet man in 10km, in Mortain. Dort lohnt es sich auch die petite et grande Cascarde anzugucken. Es gibt noch etliche Ausflugsziele drumherum, aber auch der Garten lädt dazu ein mal einen lazy Day einzulegen. Es war super schön !

Le Petite Claire

Absolutely beautiful , just up our street! Full of character and charm, with little touches that made it feel so homely. Kitchen was very well equipped, bed was so comfortable, plenty of hot water at all times. Nellie ( the dog ) loved the garden, and we would walk around the lanes each afternoon much to the amusement of the neighbouring cows! Such a lovely location. Visited lots of places during our stay, St Malo, the Beaches, Mont St Michel, Dinan, and even the Chateau de la Motte Husson! A truly lovely French Break. Thank you Andrea, Paul and Nellie 🐕 xxx

Ein sehr schönes, schnuckeliges, kleines aber feines Häuschen. Es ist sehr liebevoll eingerichtet. Von dort aus kann man sehr gut sowohl in der Normandie als auch in der Bretagne vieles erkunden. Wir haben es sehr genossen.

Romantische Ruhe mit Sternenhimmel

Das Bild dieses süßen Häuschens entspricht absolut der Realität. Angekommen, Ruhe, Entspannung!!! Alles was man braucht, ist in der Ausstattung mit viel Geschmack vorhanden. Wenn man Ruhe vom Alltag braucht, ist das genau der richtige Tipp! Die Vermieter und die Nachbarn sind super nett und sehr hilfsbereit! Man kann von dort aus die Normandie und auch die Bretagne bereisen; allerdings muss man längere Fahrzeiten in Kauf nehmen! Wir hatten eine tolle Zeit in diesem Haus!

Charmant huisje, rustige locatie, op de boerenbuiten. De eerste 2 dagen heel koud in de badkamer, is ook een beetje verouderd en kan niet extra verwarmd worden. Maar we hebben hoedanook genoten van deze plek, prima fiets locatie!

Ferienhaus mit Seele

Das Ferienhaus ist individuell und mit sehr viel Liebe zum Detail im französischen Landhausstil eingerichtet - alles andere als die Standard-08/15-Ikea-Ausstattung. Man merkt richtig, wie viel Herzblut und Mühe die Eigentümer in das Häuschen gesteckt haben. Auch der Garten ist wunderschön grün und lauschig. Auch für Hunde perfekt, da komplett umzäunt. Wir haben auch den Kaminofen im Unterschoss genutzt, der den Raum gut aufgewärmt hat. Wlan hat perfekt funktioniert. Die Kommunikation mit den Vermietern war total unkompliziert und angenehm. Vor dem Aufenthalt bekommt man ein sehr hilfreiches Handbuch mit allen wichtigen Infos zum Haus, sodass wirklich nichts schiefgehen kann. Alles in allem ein wunderbarer Urlaub!

Traumurlaub in der Normandie

Ein wunderbarer Ort! Das Haus ist genauso bezaubernd wie auf den Fotos und liebevoll eingerichtet. Es fehlt an nichts, besonders die Küche ist umfangreich bestückt. Wenn das Ofenfeuer brennt, gibt es nichts Gemütlicheres, als nach einem Ausflug in "La petite Claire" zu sitzen. Und obwohl wir im Oktober dort waren, konnten wir tagsüber sogar noch im großzügigen Garten in der Sonne sitzen!
