*** The entire Smoky Mountain area is very hilly (After all, it IS the Smoky Mountains!) so do yourself a favor and download an offline map in your g-oogle Maps program. This will let you navigate to our cabin and around the area even if you don't have cell coverage. Neat, right??!
To do this, it's easy:
1. Open the Go ogle Maps app and log in.
2. Search for Pigeon Forge. Zoom in/out so that the map you see contains everything from Gatlinburg on the bottom to Sevierville on the top. You'll notice our cabin in Townsend will be included in that. (Don't be afraid to zoom way out because it'll get everything on the screen)
3. On iPhone: Tap the name, tap More.., select Download Offline Map > Download On Android: Tap the name, select Download, click Download

I'm not sure what to say to this lukewarm review. I've owned the house only a month. Literally every single piece of furniture, dish and all the appliances are brand new. I personally pulled the tags off of them. There wasn't an issue with the washer when we checked -- it was just operator error. But if you would have reached out we could have helped troubleshoot. In any event, I always want to take care of any issues that pop up. As for air filters, I have them changed once a month.
We enjoyed the location of the cabin it was a short trip to Pigeon Forge. The cabin was surprisingly baby friendly and that was great for us with a 16 month old. The 2 teenage boys Ioved the arcade game and we enjoyed it being in the living room so they were in the same room with us in the evenings. We didn’t have any issues while we were there and that is always a good thing. The check in and check out process was easy and communication with the owners was top notch.

I'm glad you were able to take advantage of our baby-friendly amenities, Kim. It's necessary to have amenities for everyone so babies, little kids, teens, and adults can all have a great time at the cabin. Checking in and checking out should always be easy otherwise you're with the wrong host. Thanks for staying with us and see you all again on your next trip to the Smokies.
Good semi-secluded cabin but could use some cleaning and maintenance
We really liked the location of this cabin. It was quiet and felt isolated from the main Pigeon Forge strip and also gave a back way to Gatlinburg on highway 454. The wrap around porch gave our kids room to run around outside while raining. My kids really enjoyed the arcade game and foosball table. We thought the kitchen was very well stocked with supplies and the cabin had good furnishings. However, it could have used a vacuum. The beds were very comfortable, but the bunk beds did squeak a lot.
The biggest problem we had was the cleanliness, which is the biggest reason we do not like staying in hotels. We first noticed the problem when we arrived and the kids found a pile of about 40 to 50 bugs in the corner of the bunkroom closet. The more we looked the more we found throughout the cabin. My daughter found one crawling in the bed with her one morning, and my wife found one under her pillow another night. The fact that there were live and dead bugs means this had been going on for some time. I have a hard time believing no one ever mentioned it and everyone was okay with it. The "amazing" cleaning crew, as we were told, were suppose to have been there right before us. However, when you find that many dead bugs you really question how clean it really was. The cabin could really use a vacuum, since there was no way to remove the dead bugs. I will say Justin responded quickly to the message sent via VRBO. He had me send pictures of the bug through the email. He did ask if I would like the cleaning people come back. I told him I did through the email, but it was never vacuumed. I assume he missed the email. He responds best through the VRBO site.
He did offer to send an exterminator the day before we left, and I declined the offer. We only had a day left and I didn't want my clothes sprayed. He assured me the problem would be taken care of, but there were other things that makes me question if it will. There were other problems that really shown lack of basic maintenance. I know some of these problems, like the master bath shower head not working, was already brought to his attention. A previous guest wrote about it in the guest book, which also had pages ripped out of it. The door knob for the master bath was also broke. The face plate on the door was bent badly which says I was not the first to be locked inside. If you stay, the knob only works when turned counter-clockwise.

Thanks for your comments and staying at the cabin. I sincerely regret any inconvenience this has caused. We definitely wouldn't want you to go through any issues if we were in your shoes. I truly understand all of your concerns and even though you said it wasn't bad. I offered immediate assistance after asking you for some pictures to help my staff assess your problem. You responded after 3 days and without hesitation, I offered a staff visit since you confirmed that help is still needed. We never got your permission to enter the cabin to take care of these matters. I hope you understand that because we really value our guests' privacy, it would be impossible for us to just swing by without your full consent. I've got regular extermination being performed and our guy Steve is obsessed with killing all manner of bugs. I'll be sure he gets out there asap to work his magic.
Thanks for taking the time to leave a review about your stay at Willow Heights Lodge! It was a pleasure hosting you and I hope you'll come back and stay with us again soon!

Make sure you read the reviews!!!!
The location of the cabin was great. The beds were comfy and the kids loved the video game and foosball table. However, there are many things that need to be addressed in the cabin. The “amazing” cleaning crew needs to be replaced with someone that really cleans. The bugs in the closet of the bunk room that were reported in June were still there during our visit in July. The fridge was left dirty, the kitchen floor was left dirty, one of the lamps in the bunk room we were unable to turn on because the thing you turn was missing. There were dirty q-tips left laying on the baseboards in one of the bathrooms. The shower heads in both bathrooms need to be replaced. The water pressure coming out of the single stand up shower is a trickle and the shower head in the other bathroom leaks all over the place. We were unable to start the dishwasher upon leaving as the door would not latch closed for us to start it. I contacted Justin on Sunday morning as we arrived late on Saturday and I finally got a reply several days later. Some excuse that VRBO had messed with his account and he couldn’t access it. He did offer to have them come touch up clean (even after I told him it was not necessary) but we were not there and I didn’t want someone in the cabin with access to our belongings when we were not there. Upon leaving, I left something extremely important in the cabin and when I realized it, I called the emergency number that was provided. Only to find out that I had been dealing with a management company all along and not Justin. I sent a message through the VRBO site asking JUSTIN to call me asap and as of today, have yet to receive a call from him. The communication was great until they received their payment but after that, don’t expect much. Also, I drive a pickup truck and if you have a vehicle taller than that, it will more than likely hit the power lines hanging down over the drive. And the driveway is NOT for the faint of heart. It is extremely steep.

Hi Joelie - I'm so glad you all had a good time and enjoyed your visit! Literally ALL of the furniture is brand new in the entire cabin -- less than 6 months old -- so I'm sorry you felt that it wasn't so comfortable. I definitely don't feel that way when I stay, but I guess our tooshies are different like that. Hopefully you at least enjoyed the hot tub, foosball, arcade game and other entertainment amenities!
Love, love, love that all 3 bedrooms had king beds and were Comfortable! The cabin is so pretty. Location is easy access to Pigeon Forge and also Gatlinburg Arts and Craft district, easy to get into Gatlinburg without the traffic of the parkway. Nice quiet location with a deck that spans almost 360 degrees around the cabin. Great for little kids to ride their bike or push scooter.

Thanks for the wonderful review, Roberta. It's our goal to provide excellent support to our guests. Glad you enjoyed your stay at the cabin, and we hope to see you again soon.
We traveled for to Pigeon Forge for a last minute get away. Cabin was very clean and exactly as pictured. Large bedrooms with plenty of storage (closets and dressers in all rooms and all bedrooms have large TVs. We loved the wrap around deck, majority of the deck is covered which allowed us to still enjoy the outdoors in the the rain. The cornhole boards and foose ball table were nice surprises. Location is ideal, an easy 15-20 minute drive to Pigeon Forge activities. Gas station/convenience store less than five minutes away. Easy check in and check out process. Highly recommend.
