Check in was very easy. Location was super close to the waterfall and it’s beautiful. The property is well kept and the room was well stocked. If you’re showing at C bar C it’s an easy 15 minute drive away. The only downside is that the walls are very thin and you can hear even quiet conversations from the room next to you. Unfortunately my Friday night neighbors must’ve had too much to drink, a symphony of vomiting from 4-730 am.
My sister lives in Ohio and I live in Illinois. We met somewhat in the middle to go to the festival for the first time. The location of Bill's place was farther away from Parke County, but we agreed that it was totally worth it! A great place to enjoy the outdoor Fall weather. Beautiful patio and we enjoyed our stay. You have to walk to see the falls and the bridge at the park next door-such an unexpected treat!
We have come to feel like this is our special home away from home, and our daughter's family living just across the falls makes it more comfortable.
We and our family enjoy it so much we will be returning the end of May for a graduation celebration event!!!!
See you soon...can we schedule a deer visit lol...
Enjoyed a wonderful Labor Day weekend stay at this beautiful cottage. Lovely decor and exceptional bed and bedding. Will definitely book again! The hosts were beyond welcoming and helpful. Very pleased. Worth the money. Looking forward to next time . . .
It's the perfect place to stay if you're wanting to see the Upper and Lower Cataract Falls! It's a little smaller than I thought, but with just two of us it was fine. The bed was comfortable, but a bit high off the ground. The night that it was just us in the lodge, it was perfectly quiet.
This was a last minute trip and we feel like we found a hidden gem! Cataract Falls Lodge is a beautiful property, wonderfully renovated and clean. Our one bedroom unit was perfect for a weekend away. In addition to Cataract Falls park right next door, we visited two other state parks and quaint Spencer downtown - all within short drives from the property. We love the outdoors and this was exactly what we needed! Thank you Bill and Becky!
We had fallen in love with this property on our first visit, and our return reminded us why. William and Becky have continued to finesse the property creating more ways to enjoy it.
Although the tranquility that comes from staying here is such a wonderful change, and being to close to our family makes it a most enjoyable time.
We plan to see you again!!!
The location actually turned out to be near perfect. We did evening hikes along the water. We came to Indiana for the covered bridges, but enjoyed the nearby winery and brew pub (1/2 hr). The property had nice amenities to enjoy the outside as well. ( They need to do a better job with the address (Spencer). Tough to find at night. Enjoyed the stay!
While we had originally booked to be in town for a horse show, my daughter & I realized we had stumbled upon a hidden gem. Our stay was wonderful! The owners were so kind, the property was immaculate inside and out, and so many additional amenities we truly enjoyed. While most of our time was spent at the show, we made time to visit the covered bridge and 2 of the waters falls located in the park just next door. We will definitely be back to spend time exploring and enjoying this wonderful place we have found! Thank you Bill & Betty for sharing your place with us! This was a treasure.

I loved how quiet it was and so relaxing! The muskrat couple that I kept seeing were very cute and entertaining with their scampering about. It was dark enough out there to see a lot of stars and hundreds of lightening bugs blinking. I do agree with another reviewer, that the bed is a little high (as I'm only 5') and could use a little step stool to help get on the bed. But the bed was very comfortable! All in all a wonderful place to be.

Arrived at night, property is dark. Was unsure where to park. Decided to just park in front of our little cottage as best as we could.
All code info had been sent to use in advance. Patience with the door handle was described and we adhered to it. No issues there.
Inside cottage was clean. Found additional bedding pillows and blankets for my daughter.
Kitchen is stocked with garbage bags, paper towels and coffee & tea.
Overall nice place. Patio area is gorgeous, I am sure it will be even more so when it warms up.
We will be back for next horse show season for sure.
This was without a doubt the most lovely experience we could have had. Bill and Becky are so very hospitable, and the location made such a relaxing time.
We teased Bill this morning as last night our daughter and son-in-law came over we played cards outside with fire so comfortable. Although the most amazing surprise was three to four deer who watched, and then played in the side yard.
Peaceful and relaxing just what we needed.
