A wonderful place to wind down after long days for VMI commissioning and graduation.
Very impressed with the property! The owners had all the kitchen equipment needed to make it feel like home. The property was immaculate. Thank you for the wonderful visit.
We were in town for my daughter‘s college graduation. I had family coming in from Pennsylvania and Iowa and this property was perfect for our gathering! We went fishing in the pond, roasted hot dogs over the fire, and sat in the hot tub. The lodge was very large and there was more than enough room to socialize and celebrate. The lodge is beautiful and the grounds were peaceful. I highly recommend the lodge!
Couldn’t be happier with our stay. The place was exactly as described and we really enjoyed the atmosphere. We didn’t have a ton of time there since we were competing at the Virginia horse center but the time we did have was super relaxing. My son and I even had time for a little fishing. The stars at night are amazing
The property was so great! Me and a few friends came for a new years small get away to relax and it was the perfect house for it! The scenery and quietness was great!!
The place is great. It was a wedding weekend for my niece and it was more chaotic than I anticipated. My wife and I will be making contact to book again soon
Modernized log cabin nestled in the serene countryside perched on a hill with breathtaking views.. really enjoyed sitting on the porch doing absolutely nothing. plenty of outdoor activities for all ages. Enjoyed a ride into Lexington for a bite and a walk around town. Well equipped place with a nice friendly host.
Had a very relaxing trip. It was a short stay but the owners went above and beyond to accommodate us. From the morning sun to the night sky and the feel of lodge everything was very relaxing. The pond was the highlight, the kids and us adults all caught fish. The lodge felt very homey and had everything we needed. I would highly recommend this place and am in fact planning my next visit.
The lodge provided 6 cyclists ideal lodging for our Saturday gravel cycling event nearby. Everything was perfect. From the accommodation to the fishing lake to the fire pit to the walking hiking trails. We will be back soon
My group of BR's and our families thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cabin for our 20 year VMI reunion. It's about a 25 min drive from Post but well worth the drive. We enjoyed the pond, canoes, pedal boats etc. The kids fished from the stocked pond which is catch and release. Our group enjoyed the fire pit at night and the beautiful scenery of the mountains from the deck and of course the Jacuzzi was a nice way to hang out at night. We will keep this property in mind for future reunion weekends!
We had an amazing time! We stayed with another family and there was plenty of room to have space if needed and all sit together for meals. The rocking chairs on the covered porch overlooking the field and pond were perfect for coffe and a blanket in the mornings. The beautiful stone fireplace was perfect in the evenings, while the kids were having a movie night upstairs. We have unanimously voted yes to coming back! Thank you so much for your hospitality and having everything we could need in the kitchen, bathrooms and even multiple binoculars!
Everything was as described. Communication told us everything we needed to know. Got check in instructions ahead of time. Hot tub was cleaning and working. Perfect place to stay for some space/privacy and about 20-25 minutes to some local breweries and shopping.
The lodge is a dream! It’s so clean and ready for a great family vacation. Kitchen is fully stocked, plenty of towels, blankets, and creature comforts. The bathrobes in each room are such a nice touch! The property is stunning with a beautiful stocked fishing pond. Our teenagers put their phones down and played like real kids! We were 45 minutes from Natural bridge safari park and caverns and an hour from tubing with Twin River. 10/10 schedule this vacation for your family today!
The property and lodge were fantastic. Everything inside and out exceeded our expectations. We have stayed at several VRBO properties over the years and this property by far has been the best "stocked" property. The spice rack had every kind of spice if you so choose to cook, there were binoculars by the back porch to watch the deer in the field, there were multiple types of coffee, there were robes for the hot tub, firewood for the fire pit, etc. etc. I highly recommend the lodge for anyone looking for a quality getaway with privacy. We will be back!
The house and property were absolutely amazing. The house was well furnished and has everything you could possibly need. After spending the day exploring town and hiking, it was nice to come back and relax in the hot tub. It was a great place to stargaze at night. The fishing pond was an added bonus. We loved catching fish and taking the paddleboat out. The covered deck was a great spot to enjoy some morning views. The hummingbird feeder was one of our favorite parts. We loved watching them in the morning. We have stayed at a lot of properties before, but this place is by far our favorite one.
WOW!!! The lodge is absolutely fantastic! Everything you need or want is right there. We could feel the warmth overflowing as soon as we arrived. It was late evening so the owners had lights on for us. As soon as we opened the front door, we knew it was going to be a fabulous weekend stay. The lodge is immaculately clean and inviting. Literally just bring your clothes & food, since you will not want to leave. The kitchen is fully stocked. The hot tub is wonderful. The beds and linens were just right. The gas logs made it all cozy and warm. There is so much space inside and outside. This place is definitely a gem. We can hardly wait to return. Thank y’all for sharing your little piece of heaven in Middlebrook!!
We had a very great experience visiting this cabin. It had a very cozy and warm feeling to it. Absolutely amazing views from the porch and the patio. How much ever I tell is less about our stay.
The view of fog engulfed mountains, waking up to the tweets of so many birds, the early morning hikes in the trails. Following this; the experience of fishing in the small pond Provided at the property, As well as the facility of having a paddle boat and also a canoe. The kids and all of us adults experienced each different aspect.
The kitchen is well stocked with lots of utensils And appliances. You didn’t need to use any of the utensils which we carried.
Even the blankets, pillows were clean and umpteen.
The place was also well stocked with board games and unique toys for kids.
Each bedroom had its own ambience of a cozy cabin. The Property was furnished with so many trinkets and decorative items from the 1900 And some even older; Which makes the place even more interesting.
A dream vacation Which we would never be able to express in its fullest. It was so much more than the words expressed here.
Must stay experience for all I recommend everyone to surely book and enjoy their stay here. I surely would recommend all my friends.
I rented the cabin and thought it was a very reasonable price. The owners were responsive without being overbearing. They had it stocked more generously than other vrbos - dishwasher pods, body wash, etc. They also had an abundance of towels. As mentioned previously, for some reason the pictures don't do it justice. It is a solid log cabin - beautifully decorated. It is roomy and cozy. While somewhat remote, the most beautiful views I saw in Virginia were the views from the cabin and of neighboring farms. We did a day trip to Shenandoah National park and Lewisburg,WV but closer cute towns are nearby. We were always midful not to stay out too late as we wanted to enjoy the cabin. We enjoyed the hot tub and paddleboat/canoe. We cooked our supper there and found it well stocked. My 7 year old liked for me to take him to the creek which was at the end of the driveway and across a field. There he gathered rocks, built bridges with rocks and could have spent hours ther playing. He is begging to return. It is simply an amazing property!
Our family had an amazing time! The scenery was beautiful and we enjoyed our stay immensely. Our kids enjoyed the fishing pond, hiking trails and creek. We made memories that will last a lifetime.
