Great spot, great location, great house. Wonderful kitchen, great decks. Beds were excellent. Wish I could have payed extra to open the pool early. Will try to rent this place again- kids, grandkids and family all loved it!
We were very close to the beach, which was great. We could also walk to town and avoid the hassles with parking. The home size fit our group of 13 perfectly. The media room was perfect for the teenagers and adults alike. On July 4th a parade even goes right past the home!
Beautiful, spacious and well-equipped home. Great theater for family movie night. Great balcony for listening to the ocean waves and sharing happy hour together. Hot tub got plenty of use due to cool evening weather. Kitchen was okay but could use some updating especially the cooktop, dishwashers and kitchen pots/pans (some are past their expiration date). Overall we had a great time at “Five O’Clock Somewhere” and we might be back next year perhaps in mid-September. We love the OBX and this place is perfect!
Overall the property was great. Fantastic location, quick walk to the beach, dog friendly and relatively clean. Elevator had to be shut down due to issues on 4th day there. Going up and down 4 flights of stairs every day took a toll on these 60+ year old knees. The master bath on the main level would have been lovely except for the mold in the grout, needs a good cleaning. Shower curtain in the bedroom my daughter stayed in had pink slime all along the bottom. Metal trash can in the kitchen was broken so could not use the foot pop up feature, had to constantly touch the dirty lid to deposit trash. My daughter's room also had what looked like a large coffee or soda stain on the bedspread and running down the front of the dresser. Fridge in kitchen does not seem to run very cold thought we tried lowering the temp. The elaborate overhead fan system in the living room was broke and never worked while we were there. The house is a really nice place just needs a few fixes. If you are wanting to cook-in, the pot and pan selection is limited and what is there is not in great shape. Ceiling in main living area has a few water stains. But there was ample room for everyone and my daughter’s boyfriend loved the hot tub. Beautiful outdoor bar and hangout area! Theatre room was a hit with all the guys! We would consider booking this property again especially if the cleaning issues were addressed.
This property worked well for our family reunion -- plenty of space for everyone to spread out, big and comfortable common spaces. We liked the location a lot (walkable to beach and boardwalk), and we enjoyed the pool. Cons were relatively small issues: A few places could have been cleaned better (found solo cups under the bed, grill and tools were pretty dirty), pots and pans and trash can weren't in great shape (lid was broken on trash can). Overall, a great place to stay. We also appreciated the responsiveness of the property management company -- we had a few issues (a broken pipe one day) and they very quick to get back to us and get things resolved in an unobtrusive way.
Way closer to the beach than I thought. We rented a golf cart and were able to go shopping at Scarborough fair at the drop of a hat. The house is pool and hot tub or conveniently located. The outdoor bathroom for a poor use was a major surprise. The theater room and basement bar area were extremely convenient. And the bedrooms and common kitchen and living area were larger and way more comfortable than other houses we’ve stayed at. I would recommend this home
