About this property

Peaceful Hart Mountain Cabin

Hart Mountain Cabin is the perfect place to stay as your "home base" as you explore the Hart Mountain National Antelope Refuge!

Hart Mountain Cabin is located 1/4 mile from the center of Plush, with a fantastic view of the Hart Mountain Antelope Refuge, in the high desert of South Central Oregon. Situated near the Fremont National Forest and the Warner Mountains, it is the gateway to numerous recreational activities.

Our Cabin sleeps four with a Queen Bed and queen size pull out couch. There is a bathroom with shower. Towels and bed linens are provided with a clean set given every 3rd day for our extended stay guests. The cabin is fully heated in winter and air-conditioned in the summer.

There is no cell service in our Valley therefore no phone service in the cabin. There is however high speed internet.

The kitchenette includes microwave, stove, refrigerator, and oven and is fully stocked with cookware and utensils including blender, toaster, mixer and coffee maker. We provide coffee filters, TP and paper towels. You just need to bring your own shampoo and personal items!

There is a deck for sunning and a pit for cozy evening campfires (depending on fire season). Groceries, sundries, gasoline/diesel fuel, charcoal and firewood are available at the local Hart Mountain General Store in nearby Plush.

Meals and snack foods are served at the our local hangout, The Hart Mountain General Store and the Adel Store 18 miles south up until 8 pm. Be prepared to see real Buckaroos there! For more information about the Hart Mountain General Store, please call them at (541) 947-2491 for details!

We gladly allow up to two dogs. There is a strict no dogs on bed or couch policy. There is also a $50 non-refundable pet fee, per dog.

We have a small RV or trailer hook up with full water, electric and septic if you have a larger party for $35 per night. This is not available for a standalone rental. Size restrictions do apply, please call for limitations.

Peaceful getaway
Great quiet spot for a Hart Mountain basecamp. Communication from the host could have been better, but we worked it all out.

Incredible views and cosy cabin
This cute cabin has spectacular views in a remote setting. It felt like I was in a movie – the view of Hart Mountain is something I'll never forget. An hourish to the hot springs, we rose early to see the sun rise on mountain, followed by a dip in the hot spring. Managed to see pronghorns too! A very special part of the world and I can't wait to return one day. Also the horse and cat were very friendly! Thanks!

Perfect Eclipse Viewing Site
We enjoyed staying at this little cabin with a beautiful view. The RV site allowed us to have a bigger group.

Well equipped but BUGS EVERYWHERE INSIDE
The property was cute and had the amenities you could ask for but I don’t know if it’s just poorly sealed or what but we had to deal with bugs upon bugs upon bugs inside our dwelling while we were there. At first walk in we looked up and there were literally 50 flies on the big window above the front doors. We sprayed them down with bug spray we found in the house. Hornets all around the outside. The host came and sprayed for those the next day which helped somewhat. She also gave us a new can of bug spray and I swear we probably used the whole thing fogging the house because there were mosquitos, gnats, hornets, flies, and beetles getting in all over the place. I felt itchy my whole stay. I don’t know how it has gotten so many good reviews. I’m only giving the overall rating 2 stars because it IS well equipped and very cute inside. Also those RV hookups are completely inaccessible and located at the back of the cabin so don’t bother asking about those unless you just have a narrow little camper on your truck or something. You have maybe 10 ft of clearance MAX and the cabin sits inside of a circular corral you also have to navigate.
