Welcome to koolkondo where you will experience luxury vacation rentals at its finest. Our stylish boutique hotel style condos and homes have it all. You will absolutely enjoy your home away from home with VIP concierge style services in modern island luxury!

Aloha and welcome to The Compound, one of the premier vacation estates on the South Shore of Kauai. Located in the heart of Poipu, and less than 100 yards from Brennecke's beach, The Compound is a unique private estate experience. Come kick off your sandals and enjoy the many splendors of our incredible island.

Our gorgeous estate consists of one large main house and three 2 bedroom, 1 bath bungalows.

The Surf Bungalow is roughly 1,000 sq. feet and has two bedrooms and one bathroom.

This booking is for just one home not all 4 homes.

This beautifully landscaped piece of paradise is vacation ready! Lounge by the shared community pool that is available toour Koolkondo guests at two other locations! Fire up the grill, hang out in the yard, and relax with your family and friends in this private tropical paradise.

Take in the sparkling ocean views and in less than a minute you can be snorkeling, swimming, or boogie boarding on one of the best beaches on the South Shore.

Let us provide you with the perfect place to create memories that will last a lifetime!

Air Conditioning- Hawaii is known for its trade winds. Many homes on Kauai have been designed for "open airflow" using screened windows and screened sliding doors, and DO NOT have air conditioning. Please be sure and confirm when making your reservation whether the home you have chosen does or does NOT have air conditioning. Depending on the season, or even the day, temperatures typically range between 74 to 84 for the highs, and 60 to 74 for the lows, year-round. Refunds or discounts ARE NOT given for lack of Air Conditioning in a property.





**Please note: There is a $75 Venmo fee for any check-ins arriving after 11pm. 

Any bookings longer than 7 days will be charged a $200 mid- cleaning fee. Our staff will come and do a "refresh" during your stay.

Clean, convenient to the beach, nice cluster of 3 bungalows plus 1 house plus a pool with off street parking (Poipu parking is limited), beach toys, bbq and quiet privacy, depending on kids in the pool of course.

Great location, Awesome Communication

Fabulous property that was only minutes from the beach on foot. Lots of great beach gear available for use and the house lived up to the pics and description. My favorite part was the communication with the property manager. He went through helpful videos for the property and check-in process. Was very responsive and helpful. We would definitely stay here again.

The best place on the island to stay!

Truly the perfect location and it came with everything we needed to make the most of our time there. It was a block to Poipu Beach and Brennecke’s for their Puka Dogs. A couple blocks the other direction to Calipaka Joe’s and less than a mile to Little Fish. The house has all the beach and pool toys with wagons to haul it all, bicycles and surf boards. The pool was clean and we loved having dinner on the picnic tables under the twinkly lights. The house itself was decorated beautifully with a modern clean, feel. It had all the utensils and pots/pans to make meals. We also really loved the outdoor shower. I will absolutely be staying here again when we return!

Night arrival disaster. No lights, no signage, no local contact as all off island. Lodgify contact was old employee from 2 years ago. Clean cottage but not well maintained, needs painting. 1 of 4 fans worked, likely need new batteries. Well stocked kitchen. Be aware lots of noise from pool from other guests. Great location across from beach & walk distance to Store/restaurants. Good bedding & linens. Off street parking good but needs signage. Enjoyed our time here.

Great location - walking distance to beaches and restaurants. Great property. Great communication with Property Manager. The only possible snafu is the variable with other renters on the property. Just so happen when we were there a large family (7 adults) with 5 toddlers and small children rented the larger home, were incredibly loud starting at 5 am, and loudly overran the property and pool at will, rarely courteous about the fact that other guests also were on property. This is NOT the property manager or owner's fault, this is just the nature of the set-up and proximity to others in the same charming location.

Great property. Communication with the property manager was top notch. Surf cottage was clean and exactly as listed. All the chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards, snorkel gear, surfboards and bikes were included (shared amongst the four cottages on property, but plenty for everyone). Proximity to Brenneke’s beach to boogie board, snorkeling at Nukomoi beach and swimming and surfing near the waiohai is primo. Turtles, monk seals abound. The included garden cart to get all the gear anywhere is awesome. You do share the lawn area and pool with the guests in the other three cottages, and they are close together. If the other guests aren’t considerate of this, it can be a lot. This is a perfect property to rent with a bunch of friends or family and you have your own ‘compound’. One thing to note- roosters in this area aren’t ‘taken Care of’ like at the bigger resorts, so they do tend to be more noticeable. Great afternoon and evening breezes cool off the Surf cottage nicely after a hot day.

Pitch perfect beach cottage oasis

We enjoyed our stay immensely at this extremely cool, clean, laid back cottage oasis with perfect proximity to snorkeling, beaches, and Koloa. The cottage came equipped with all the beach-going gear a you would need. It even had bikes you could take, surfboards, and boogie boards. The private pol was also a big bonus!

Darling bungalow minutes from the beach!

We loved staying here! Super cute and clean space. The home is just a few minutes to the beach and restaurants. Also, very central for quick drives to activities nearby like hiking in Waimea. Gracious host and very communicative. The only thing we had hoped for was a bit more spices/items for cooking so make sure to bring your own if you plan to grill or cook. Otherwise a very enjoyable stay and would highly recommend!

Right by the beach

This place is wonderful! Corey was very easy to reach whenever we needed anything. All amenities you need for a vacation available; bikes, surfboards, snorkeling etc. The four houses are a great option to rent if you have a big family! We stayed in the surf house and loved it. Highly recommended and will definitely stay here again.

Perfect 'lil Kauai beach cottage

Couldn't have adored this beach stay more. Just a block from the beach, this cute little cottage has everything you'd need for a tropical stay in paradise. Backyard pool, grill and outdoor shower access along with bikes, snorkel gear and beach chairs. Communication was top notch and we were greeted with fresh picked fruit from the garden and a bottle of wine in the fridge. House came fully stocked and property manager was extremely responsive. Definitely plan on coming back to this gem!
