About this property

Private lake year round home, 2 ac, 200 ft shoreline, 5 mil to Itasca State Park

Year round Home with boat landing, 4 Bedrooms + Loft + Den, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 13)
Our home is a 4 bedroom 2 bath turn key home located on Heart Lake in northern Minnesota, just 5 minutes away from the headwaters of the Mississippi River. This majestic home sits on 2 acres of land with 200 ft of private lake shore that will provide the perfect environment to unwind and enjoy your vacation. Our home has high cathedral ceilings in the living room, kitchen and dinning area with many windows to provide a great view of the lake and surrounding outdoors.

This is a private and quiet 2 acre property, secluded lake with great bass, northern pike, crappie and sunny fishing (you can catch keepers right off the dock). Take in the beautiful sunsets serenaded by the loons at dusk; watch the deer feed in the yard mornings and evenings. Listen to the birds sing in the morning and the frogs croaking at dusk.

There are plenty of indoor activities too: high speed internet, streaming TV, movies, board games, puzzles, coloring books, children's toys, crayons, cards, cribbage, chess. poker, backgammon, scrabble, Yahtzee , Monopoly, etc., and a keyboard to play and sing around (with music books too).

After the daily activities sit around a crackling fire burning in the large stone fire pit overlooking the lake and Cook burgers and hot dogs on the grill. Or grill right out the back door in the firepit area. (don't forget the marshmallows).

Pitch a tent and experience sleeping with nature or just take a blanket to lay on the lawn or enjoy a lazy hammock and gaze at the stars.

This place is about relaxing while being as active as you want to be. Play horseshoes, croquet, badminton, corn hole, ring toss, darts or volleyball ( some games supplied). Hike or pick wild raspberries. Enjoy water sports like jet skiing, water skiing, boating or fishing. Take the paddle boat or out one of the 3 kayak's for a ride ( both provided). Take the kids to Itasca State Park for a bike ride. Go golfing at nearby golf courses, horseback riding, four-wheeling or just take a hike in the woods on one of the many trails around the property.

Come see the beautiful fall colors and cozy up to a nice fire by the back deck or overlooking the lake.

There is a private boat landing that you can access with snowmobiles and 4 wheelers to ice fish, or bring in your portable fish homes.

You can bring an Ice home down too, but we do not plow the lake, but we do keep the access to the lake open. There are 30 amp hookups to plug in at the garage, but no fresh water or septic hookup in the winter months.

Private, secluded and safe
We've enjoyed this property for years. Lots of room for family to stay and hang out. A variety of things to do, swimming, we brought kayaks, boating, campfires, BBQ, games, we always bring extras. Close to Itasca, Park Rapids and even Bemidji.

Fun Time
This was one of the best equipped VRBOs we have stayed in — so many things furnished that we usually have to pack. Pat and Elizabeth were so easy to communicate with. We enjoyed the stay so much. Location very close to Lake Itasca State Park which was a plus since ‘walking across the Mississippi’ has been on my bucket list.

Perfect Location
Pat and Elizabeth’s home was perfect for our stay. We had three families (6 adults and 5 kids ranging from 2 to 11.) There was plenty of space to sleep, cook and play inside and out. Beds were comfortable and all the amenities we needed were there. The bonfire space was awesome and view property beautiful. We didn’t end up swimming as the lake was covered in lillypads, but did get in some fishing and kayaking. It was a 15 minute drive to Itasca State Park, including the Mississippi headwaters and the beach. Close enough to go in the morning, come back to the house for lunches and kiddo naps, and head back again in the afternoon. Just to comment I think their pictures don’t do the place justice - it was much nicer than the photos. Some of the furniture is new (couch in the living room) and the room with bunk beds is now two beds (queens I think?) If we come back to the area we would definitely stay again!

Beautiful lake and property. Wonderful place to stay!
Pat and Elizabeth have a lovely home on Heart Lake with several new improvements from our last stay. Our whole family joined us for this year's annual fishing vacation. We all enjoyed the fishing and time together. We rented Pat's pontoon this year, as well as, bringing our own fishing boat which was a big plus for our fishing family, and it worked great! Having 4 bedrooms is also a big plus for us with a full kitchen for meal prep and good WIFI for streaming devices The only thing that needs improvement for us is the air conditioning/air cooling for the house since it was in the upper 80's during our stay. Otherwise, Heart Lake and the property are simply beautiful. Thank you for sharing your lovely home with our family again this year. Dawn

Family Time
This definitely was a secluded location. The lakeshore and water toys were great. My grandkids had a blast. Lots of family things to do not only at the cabin but also at Itasca State Park. I do have some feedback. If I was going to change anything, the spiral staircase was not meant for children. Also i would add something on the website page that the closest grocery store is 26 miles away. Overall the cabin was great and all outdoor activities were fun.
