Disappointed
The house was not thoroughly cleaned when we arrived. The renovated kitchen had a dirty stove top and microwave, cabinets had grease splatters, white tile floor looked clean but turned bare feet black, shower curtains were moldy in both bathrooms. I spent the first hour cleaning after a very long trip. The fitted sheet would not stay on the master bed because the pockets on the sheet were not deep enough to grip the mattress. The hall bathroom had a damaged vanity that had the bottom deteriorated. The pool was lovely but half of the pool furniture was unusable. Ripped seats on some with danger of falling through if you sat on them and rusted arms on metal chairs that could have caused severe injury to arms. Contacted owner through VRBO. Took several days to get back to me because she said she did not receive the message. Once we communicated, she brought a new chaise lounge and new shower curtains as well as hand towels and wash cloths that were not supplied. Sandra also moved the damaged furniture to the side that was supposed to be picked up and never was. The horrendous deteriorated sofa was taken away. She also made room in the kitchen cabinets so that we could store our groceries. Almost all of the drawers and cabinets had items already in them when we arrived.
My daughter and I made the best of our trip. I am disappointed in VRBO that there was not better quality control. It is a lovely little house that needs better upkeep and attention for the money spent to rent.
