This is the second time my family and I have stayed here. It's always very clean and we'd definitely stay again. The owners are very easy to communicate with and respond very quickly.
Stayed in Walton to attend an event at SUNY Oneonta (about 40 mins away). House is on beautiful grounds - perfect for being outside 'til the stars came out. House is clean, cozy, and clearly loved. I felt completely at home by the second night. Only thing to consider: those with mobility issues may find the entrance (on a slope), indoor stairs, and high entry into the tub a difficulty. Over all though, it was a very welcome getaway!

Good points, thank you Mary. And thanks for leaving it in impeccable shapw!
It's a 35 minute drive to All Star Village. The bathroom is upstairs. Toilet is tricky to flush! It took us a few tries to figure it out. Outdoor shower is wonderful! We didn't even use the one in the house. Wish we would have had time to enjoy the yard and the grill. We were at the ASV the majority of the time!
We are a family of 4, me, my wife and an 11 and 14 year old. They love to be at the house, running around the lawn or hiking in the area. We enjoy hosting friends or sitting on the deck watching the sun go down.
Why they chose this property
We fell in love with the lawn and the views, and the house is just amazingly cozy.
What makes this property unique
The space The property is completely private and while you can see houses in the distance, it is quiet and serene. The night skies can't be beat.
This is a passive solar home with some unique design features to keep it cool in the summer and warm in the winter. Baseboard heaters help with heat, but the two woodstoves do the heavy lifting for some very comfortable heat. Wood is available from our supply.
The kids room have legos and art supplies , and many books by favorite authors, for 8-12 year olds.
Internet can handle multiple people streaming or on video conference at a time.
Our home has only one bathroom to share (with a slow flush, it is supposed to be that way but confuses people!)
When we are at the house we have our cat with us. The house is thoroughly cleaned but good to know for people concerned about allergies.
Miles of running and biking around, including a biking and hiking trails in driving distance.
You have 5 acres of lawn and woods to enjoy. Feel free to some hut building.
Across the street is a lovely pond with a hiking path that you can use for a brief walk. we especially love in the mornings or at dusk.
In the shed you will find a bin with additional toys to use.
On hot days we inflate the kids pool, although we often opt to go into town and use the public pool.
Other things to note We are in driving distance from great hiking and skiing, as well as many farms and farm stores. nearby Walton and Delhi have some great antique stores, wine shops and diners. Our guest book will share details.
We are about an hour from several ski destinations, Plattekill, Bellayre and Greek Peak.
Snow tubing and sledding can be done right on the lawn or the hill across the street, as well as in Franklin's park in town. Tube included!
