About this property
La Glycine - MONTMELARD
Patricia & Jean-Paul open the doors of a charming authentic 19th century character home, steeped in history & carefully restored, nestled in a quiet area on an old agricultural estate made up of various buildings, all perfectly renovated, on the edge of a mini rural hamlet. Literally enchanting setting & site, nestled in a "balcony" on a well-exposed southwest hillside, facing a sublime bocage plateau (home to the famous peaceful Charolais cows in season). Magnificent panorama & sumptuous landscapes. Absolute calm, in the hollow of a magnificent undulating cirque, nestled under the wooded ridges of the surrounding hills, on the slopes of Mont Saint-Cyr, the highest point in southern Burgundy (unique belvedere offering an exceptional panoramic view as far as Mont-Blanc on a clear day!). Sublime preserved setting of greenery & nature, a true haven of peace & rest. Spacious gîte with very good comfort. Beautiful volumes. Warm "country chic" spirit combined with the exotic soul of the place (preservation of beams, stone walls & beautiful original wooden molded cupboard wall doors). Cozy & ultra cozy atmosphere. Lots of charm & character. Intimate large exposed & shaded terrace, very carefully planted & flowered in the spirit of a "micro-garden", arbitrating a covered spa, completed by a mini panoramic terrace perched in a "belvedere", equipped with a relaxation lounge. Composition: Access to the property by 400m of passable dirt road. Semi-detached house to the owners' home, neighboring a second gîte (total independence without vis-à-vis). Wifi (fiber). Central heating (mixed wood / oil). 1st floor (access by staircase going up from the courtyard-parking): living room-kitchen-lounge. 2nd floor: bedroom (double bed 140x190cm + single sofa bed 80x190cm as an extra), bathroom (shower/WC). Double terrace + sheltered outdoor spa (4 places) + bicycle storage + private parking. Small shops 9 km. Supermarket 14 km. Exceptional setting & picture-postcard landscapes! Charming authentic 19th century mansion carefully restored - with an intimate terrace housing a covered outdoor spa - nestled on a southwest-facing hillside, on the edge of a peaceful mini rural hamlet, 9 km from the charming typical village of Dompierre-Les-Ormes (small shops on site) & 14 km from the charming market town of Matour labeled "Green Holiday Resort" (very many amenities and remarkable level of leisure facilities). Absolute calm in the heart of the rolling Charolais countryside, nestled in the hollow of a sublime bocage plateau nestled under the wooded ridges of the vast surrounding wild forests (partly classified & protected in "Natura 2000 Zone" for its remarkable ecosystems), soothing preserved setting of nature & greenery nestled at the foot of Mont Saint-Cyr (highest point of southern Burgundy) on the foothills of the Beaujolais massif, neighboring the upper Clunisois & its "green valleys" of South Burgundy like the verdant valley of the Grosne (the "Little Switzerland of Mâconnais"). Prime location on the routes of several marked "green walk" hiking trails (attached to a very rich network of identical paths crisscrossing the territory, to be explored on foot or by mountain bike), 3 km from the GR7, 7 km from a referenced "favorite bike loop" of 88 km (another route of the same type of 63 km accessible at 17 km) & 26 km from the Green Way of the "Grande Boucle de Bourgogne du Sud", not far from the first vineyards of Beaujolais (the first vineyard in the world recognized as a "UNESCO World Geopark") & the Côtes Mâconnaises (including the famous "Val Lamartinien" / "Route des Vins de Bourgogne" to explore), close to the circuit of Romanesque churches. Ultra-privileged location at the crossroads of Charolais-Brionnais (cradle of the world-renowned AOC cattle and sheep breeds) & Clunisois-Tournugeois (both territories labeled "Pays d'Art & d'Histoire"), at the crossroads of Mâconnais, Beaujolais, as well as the departments of Rhône & Loire. Ideal for exploring (RCEA access 12 km away): 15 km from La Clayette, 19 km from Charolles, 30 km from the famous abbey city of Cluny, 31 km from Paray-le-Monial, 36 km from Charlieu, 39 km from Beaujeu (historic capital of Beaujolais), 40 km from Marcigny ("Cluniac site" famous for its Monday morning market created in 1266), 45 km from Digoin (river marina connected to the Canal du Centre & the "tranquil canal" linking Digoin to Roanne), 40 km from the sumptuous landscaped jewel of the Roches de Solutré & Vergisson labeled "Grand Site de France" & 45 km from Mâcon (Mâcon TGV station 43 km away). Possibility of group rental with the second gîte on the property (reference 3006) for a total capacity of 5 people. A perfect cocoon of charm for an ultra-relaxing green getaway for lovers! A literal haven of peace and rest!
