About this property

Frontier Suite - The Walpole Lodge, Mico, TX

The calmest room in the Lodge. Top floor, open beams, warm wood — two queen beds and a small antique child bed in the main bedroom, plus a double sofa bed in the common area, sleeping four. A private bath with tub and shower, your own climate controls, and the same run of the house: wrap-around decks, the shared kitchen, the game room. Built for families and for anyone who wants space to spread out — the room with the most quiet in it. Complimentary continental breakfast at your leisure; we're live-in hosts, so help is a knock away. Fifteen minutes from Bandera, forty from San Antonio, Medina Lake glittering past the ridge. Check-in after 3 pm, check-out before 11 am. Note: one private room, not the whole Lodge — the porch comes with it.

Mark and Laticia are wonderful hosts, they make you feel right at home. We really enjoyed our stay and plan on returning soon. Their log house is really remarkable and the view is spectacular. Setting out on the upper deck with your morning coffee is stupendous. Thanks Mark and Laticia, until next time.

Fantastic property only matched by even more fantastic hosts. There are not enough superlatives to describe the experience of being host's guests.

We had a wonderful B&B experience with Mark and Leticia at The Walpole Lodge! They were wonderful hosts and we greatly enjoyed getting to know them during our stay. The cabin was absolutely beautiful with stunning views of the Texas Hill Country overlooking Lake Medina. The room was large and comfortable, and had the rustic feel that you would expect from a log cabin. The bath and shower were ample and well supplied with toiletries and linens. The shower itself was refreshing with plenty of hot water and water pressure. The Walpoles went all out to make us feel welcome and comfortable, including providing a diverse and tasty breakfast each morning. We also enjoyed the house animals--a sweet tiny dog, a couple of cats, a collection of birds that included peacocks. All made us feel very at home. Overall, a wonderful stay and we plan to return in the future.
