Caution!!!
This was by far the worst VRBO rental we have ever had. The owner was rude, unaccommodating and unapologetic. There is mold on the vents, the towels smell musty and the sheets smelled like mildew. The AC control is locked and can not be set below 72 degrees. It felt like 75 degrees in the house and it was VERY uncomfortable. When we contacted the owner we were met with very rude and unprofessional responses. They told us that 72 should be comfortable and they would not offer any solution to help us because that was the perfect temp. I explained over and over that the AC was not working right and we couldn’t stay another night as we literally sweated through the first night. They refused to acknowledge any issue and made no effort to address our concerns. The least they could have done was discount the stay.
The other issue with this rental is the huge deposit. We booked a month prior to our stay and were charged a $1,500 deposit. They would not refund it for 3 weeks after our stay. When we asked what was taking so long VRBO said they had to give the owner time to report damages. Wouldn’t they know if there were damages as soon as the cleaner came on our departure day? It was likely rented multiple times from our checkout to the time I finally got my deposit back. We have rented with VRBO many times and never had to pay a deposit like this. To have $1,500 tied up for 6 weeks on a $500 rental is just crazy.
Shame on this owner and VRBO! Terrible rental and service.
