The CHARTREUSE DE LA SYLVE BÉNITE is just waiting for you. At the crossroads of hiking trails (GR65 / via Gebennensis on the Pilgrim's Way to Santiago de Compostela), in a green setting, the gîte is ideal for family gatherings, friendships, training courses or other events requiring a serene setting, just 35 minutes from Grenoble and 1 hour from Lyon and Chambéry.
The 340 m2 building, which sleeps 14, was rebuilt in stone on the upper part of the former monastery founded in 1116 and partially destroyed during the French Revolution.
As soon as you enter, you'll be seduced by the vaulted reception room. With its comfortable dimensions of 9 metres long by 4 metres wide, you can organise your meetings (WIFI access), group activities, meals (tables and chairs for 20 people) and games of table tennis, depending on the theme of your stay.
On the ground floor, you'll also find a recently modernised kitchen for added comfort, a lounge/dining room, 2 separate WCs and a chapel inviting you to rediscover the spirituality of the place.

The kitchen and vaulted hall open onto the outside, giving direct access to the gîte's garden in fine weather for convivial outdoor meals.
On the first floor of the left wing, you will find 1 shower room, 1 bathroom and 4 bedrooms:
the SAFRAN bedroom with 1 bunk bed 2 x 90 and 2 single beds 90
the INDIGO room with 2 beds 80 that can be joined together to form a queen size bed 160
the MALACHITE room with 2 single beds (90cm) that can be joined to form a king-size bed (180cm)
the INCARNAT room with 1 queen-size bed 160
On the first floor of the right wing, the beautiful staircase leads to 1 shower room and 3 additional bedrooms:
the GARANCE bedroom with 1 queen-size bed (160cm)
the POURPRE bedroom with 1 single bed
the GENÊTS bedroom with 1 single bed and 1 cot

The SAFRAN, INDIGO, MALACHITE, GARANCE and POURPRE rooms have a space with a washbasin where you can use the toilet.
The thick walls keep the building cool in summer. It has a highly efficient, adjustable heating system in every room, ensuring comfortable temperatures during the cold season. To comply with the new regulations issued by the Pays Voironnais, the open fireplace can unfortunately no longer be used.

The accommodation is not suitable for people with reduced mobility.
La CHARTREUSE DE LA SYLVE BÉNITE is not connected to the mains water supply. Its water supply comes from a spring, used by monks for centuries, which is not monitored by the authorities. For drinking water, please bring bottled water.

- Any use of the property for commercial purposes is prohibited without the prior consent of the owner
- The tenant may not refuse a visit by the owner or their representative during the stay

##Access
The CHARTREUSE DE LA SYLVE BÉNITE is an entire dwelling. It is a 1-storey house, adjoining that of the estate caretaker. You have your own entrance and a garden in front of the house, which is protected from view but not entirely enclosed.
There is free public parking right in front of the house.

##Notes
The CHARTREUSE DE LA SYLVE BÉNITE opens its doors to the public after many years of closure. Major works have been undertaken but there is still a lot to do. Some of the rooms are still in their original state, but they will gradually be restored thanks to you. In fact, by renting this gîte, you are directly contributing to the renovation of this local heritage: in the short term, the roofs of the enclosed building will be repaired, the spring water supply system renovated, the listed parquet floors renovated, and the interiors and equipment of the gîte refurbished.
