About the host
Hosted by fishing bear lodge LLC

I first moved to Alaska in 1957 with our family. My father was the first director of fisheries for the US Fish and Wildlife Service for the State of Alaska. I have been a professional fisherman and outdoor adventurer all my life. My wife is the local librarian. We both love the feel and closeness of our small town. We have been in business here for 28 years. Being able to enjoy our natural setting has been a blessing for both of us and using our natural hotsprings every day is a health benefit that cannot be measured.
Why they chose this property
Very comfortable lodge that has great amenities. It is the perfect place for families looking for some time together. Great for special occasions, getaways or small business meetings. We also cater to film crews, writers, artists and any other professionals who need a quiet workspace for long term use. Several of our clients use this facility for company board meetings.
What makes this property unique
Natural hotsprings at 104 degrees the perfect temperature, great to soak in after a day in the wilderness. No cars. Whale watching out the front window. The Humpbacks will bubble feed and the Orcas will cruise easily within site of the front of the lodge at times from April through November.
