The Mountain View Lodge is located 15 miles from Athens and Ohio University. We had a fantastic week staying here. The location is good. There is plenty of space for everyone. We had 18 adults/children and it was very comfortable.

The people who rent the Mountain Lodge were very clear of expectations and responded quickly when we had a leak under the kitchen sink and fixed the oven when it didn’t work. They even brought bundles of wood that we had ordered when we couldn’t find the ones they had brought earlier. They didn’t argue with us; just very kind. We had 15 people with 4 more joining us for meals and visiting and never felt too crowded. The pool was awesome. The hot tub was great, but could have been bigger for large groups of guests.

I really enjoyed staying here with my family. It was very quaint and serene. The abilitly to have a real fire was a very sweet amenity. The home was decorated for Christmas which made my heart melt. The home had a lot of space and it worked out smoothly for 9 people. I wish the hottub had been large enough to accommodate more than 4 people and the place was shown in its real state because it seemed grander on the site, although still very nice. It is now December, yet I will say it was quite cold and I could not find a thermostat to adjust the temperature, so if you're coming in the winter bring warm clothes & pjs.

Family Summer Vacation

With temps in the 90's, the pool was a huge success. The house is big with 3 floors and it affords quiet areas when needed. The 57 acres is shared with 2 other cabins, but it is private enough that we never saw anyone else during our stay. The house could use a few maintenence updates, but overall a nice stay.

The Home was very large and the 17 family members had a great time. My ten year old granddaughter said it the best with "Grandma, we don't even have to leave the house is the vacation! My only issue is the 10:00 checkout with 17 people. Maybe 11:00 would be better. Would definitely stay again!
