About this property

Amazing views of Flathead Lake at Falcon's Perch

Luxury guest house outside Somers located between Kalispell and Lakeside, boasts views of Flathead Lake. Glacier National Park only 45mins away and downtown Bigfork 30mins. This beautiful guest house sits on 5 acres of woodland surrounded by abundant wildlife. Perfect for retreats, honeymoons, or those who want to get away from it all. Don't worry about Internet for kids or a little work as it has the fast business fiber Internet at 1Gbps upload/download.
Guests have access to the entire guest house with the exception of the basement storage area. The main house to the north of the guest house is a separate rental property. However the guest house has its own driveway with two spots allocated for vehicles.
Although this area is most popular during the Summer the the Spring/Fall is also great and there is less people. Winter is nice if you are into ice fishing, skiing and snowmobiling. The majority of our neighbors around us all have 5+ acres or more so there is lots of privacy. The neighbors are friendly but keep to themselves.
Our guest house is off Boon Road right outside Somers. The main artery to my neighborhood is Buffalo Trail. When you turn on to Running Bison Lane this is a private road the belongs to my family. We have snow plow company during winter season to ensure vehicles can safely drive to our houses. Both Buffalo Trail and Boon Road also get plowed and sanded during the winter. In the Winter you need a front wheel drive car but we highly recommend 4x4 or AWD vehicle.
The guest house is equipped with business fiber Internet service provided by Lumen. WiFi 6E tri-band network mesh to ensure you get reliable 1Gbps upload/download internet speeds. Multiple people can do video conferences plus streaming TV with no issues. This is unique because the majority of homes in the area only have DSL or Satellite Internet which support maximum of 10Mbps download and 2Mbps upload too slow for most business travelers much less video streaming.

Quite and Secluded, Yet Close to Kalispell
Wonderful, spotlessly clean cottage, high up on a secluded mountain overlooking Flathead Lake. The property is very private, with two other rentals nearby and the owner lives on site to manage all three. He was responsive and helpful. We enjoyed sitting on the front porch, watching the Sun rise. We heard or saw Eagles, Wild Turkey, Whitetail Deer and other wildlife. But other than that and the soughing of the surrounding pines in the wind, silent. Only about 20 minutes' drive to Kalispell, and about 1 hour to Glacier National Park. Great, fast internet connection. Full, well-equipped kitchen with complementary Keurig coffee, which we really appreciated. The price during our High Season stay was comparable to mid-range motels in town.

Falcons Perch in Somers
Our host was so responsive with any questions we had. Not that we had many….The house is impeccably furnished with great attention to detail. The kitchen has pretty much anything you would need. Numerous restaurants nearby in Lakeside, about 7 miles away. The bed was very comfortable. Nice and quiet at night. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again.

Why they chose this property

My family has owned property in Somers for over 15 years. I have fond memories of come up to Montana every year to visit. A five acre lot near by my family's property become available and I purchased it. My family's house has one of the most amazing views of Flathead Lake and I wanted to have a I wanted to replicate a similar view. So I walked around my land with a 20 ft ladder to figure out where I would build my dream house. After completing construction of my main house I decided to build a guest house.

What makes this property unique

Besides the amazing views of Flathead Lake there is one key things that differentiate my house of all all others in Somers. Because I work in the tech industry I needed a fast reliable Internet connection for work. My system is designed for professionals that want to get away from the rat race but still be able to work periodically.

I was the first and only house according to Lumen within a 20+ mile radius equipped with their business Internet connection using fiber! I personally paid many thousands of dollars to trench and bury fiber optical cable 800+ feet down a mountain to fiber termination.

This has a WiFi network mesh to ensure you get reliable 1Gbps+ upload/download speeds throughout the property. Multiple people can do video conferences plus streaming TV with no issues. All my network equipment is business grade (Ubiquiti) rack mounts on UPS backup.

The majority of houses in this area only have DSL or Satellite Internet that only support a maximum of 10Mbps download and 1-2Mbps upload too slow for most business travelers much less 4k video streaming.
