About this property
A Private Luxury 350+ Oceanfront Estate in an Oasis /4Runner Option
Modern luxury and old Hawaii charm meet and beckon from one of the largest oceanfront lots in Puako. With 350+ feet of beachfront access and ocean views from every room, this unique and meticulously maintained home is a vacation dream—the main hale with a luxury oceanfront master suite and an additional oceanfront suite and the private guest wing with two private oceanfront suites, its own wet bar, washer/dryer, and access to the main hale via a covered bridge.
This private estate features a secure gated entry, four luxurious bedroom suites with open ensuite bathrooms, open-air living spaces, and gorgeous natural surroundings.
Hale Waima Lani (The House of Waima Heaven), situated on Waima Point, boasts two easy ocean access points to some of the best snorkeling in Hawaii. Make the most of your ocean views from the Lanai, the bedrooms, or almost any room in the house perfectly positioned to watch and listen to the waves lap onto smooth lava rock & coral sand beach. Look out over the lush landscape and stunning Kohala Mountains and Maui enveloping the property.
The quintessential Hawaiian oasis, three anchialine pools, provides natural irrigation to the mature native trees, including coconuts, Lauhala, and rare Loulou palms. The ancient pools rise and fall with the tides and hosts wildlife that flourishes in this habitat, including the endemic Night Heron and Hawaiian Stilt. They don't attract mosquitos because the water is brackish.
The sweet humming of dragonflies buzzing along the lily pad-lined ponds stimulates the senses and sets the scene to this serene sanctuary. Wake up to the sound of singing Myna birds, rolling waves along the shore, and the gentle gusts of ocean breeze circulating throughout the entire house. Take a stroll through the cobblestone pathways surrounding the garden and absorb the sweet smell of Plumeria and Gardenia flowers in bloom year-round. At dusk, the magnificent sunsets over the ocean horizon from the beach right in front. You will witness the array of sunset colors light up the sky with the silhouette of turtles in sleep are highlighted in the glow. Hawaii living at its best! This four-suite, 4.5 bathroom resort-like property in laid-back Puako is perfect for romantic getaways, family vacations, or just everyday living.
Each suite features its own large ensuite bathroom with modern amenities, including individual air conditioning, soundproofing, walk-in closets, and light-blocking Venetian shades. The floor-to-ceiling windows with tall ceilings and pocket lighting create a dreamy outdoor-indoor living environment with incredible views all around.
Every suite was designed to have an expansive ocean view.

Puako: A Brief History
Puako (Waima Point, then) was once a tiny fishing village and salt-producing settlement centuries before the arrival of James Cook. Puako was named after Princess Puako, who came from Hilo to find a husband that shared her love of Octopus. She was loved and revered by her husband's people; hence this part of the coast was named in her honor. They lived on this property, Waima Point. This is probably the reason this parcel is so large (1.62 acres) in comparison to the development around it.
Now, Puako is an exclusive residential beach enclave, including Mauna Kea and Mauna Lani. Puako has the best climate, sea life, golf, a lower population density, and easy ocean access.
The 3.5-mile Puako Beach Drive still has an old Hawaiian town feel that is lost at resorts. Puako Beach Drive is one of the most coveted beachfront neighborhoods in Hawaii.
We recommend the book, Puako: An Affectionate History. It's an extraordinary place, and we would love to share the Mauna with you.
Puako Beach Drive is charming and authentic, removed from the hustle and bustle and resort communities.
Our reef has amazing sea life, including turtle cleaning stations, caves, colorful tropical fish, manta, and spotted eagle rays.
The General Store is well stocked and also makes pizza and sandwiches to order. They also have a pretty good selection of snorkeling and diving gear for sale or rent.
