Guests may access the Schlyer Place Apartment, the basement laundry, the wrap around porch and the front yard. Please note that the basement laundry, backyard, front yard, and wrap around porch may be shared with other guests. Your apartment is completely private however.

-Please note there is another apartment above you with historic wood floors. Expect walking noises and murmuring if other guests are present. If you are a light sleeper, each bedroom is equipped with a white noise machine that has various tones and sounds to drown out walking noises above.

-Guests must clean up after themselves in the kitchen and strip bedding before checkout

-Spills and puddles of water must be cleaned up promptly including the bathroom. This will help preserve our floors for years to come.

-We are a very small safe college town but have motion detection cameras on your driveway parking spot only, for your piece of mind and security.

-PETS will be considered on a CASE BY CASE BASIS. There will be an added $30 a night fee, per pet per night, if we accept your pet request. You must inquire about your pet before booking. Pet owners must pick up pet waste from outside spaces and pets are not allowed on furniture in the home.

Grill and Fire pit: Wood and Charcoal not provided. The fire pit may not be used on high wind days or if we are in a burn ban. Fire pit and grille must be completely put out before check out. Please MOVE GRILL AWAY from house when using.

Great location
This property is in a great location to the campus and to several restaurants. The porch was a cozy place to sit on an unusually warm spring evening. The pieces of history in the hall gave us an idea of the house and the family that built it. Cool property.

We love anything old or quirky! Kris teaches construction management at FHSU, is a home inspector, writer (The Birdhouse Project) and saver of anything old. He has restored over 50 houses and was featured in This Old House magazine. Larissa also conducts home inspections but from the environmental aspect - radon, mold, and carbon monoxide. Larissa enjoys researching and designing the old houses that they work on together. Larissa also runs @oldhouselove on Instagram. When we aren't working on our projects or inspecting we enjoy playing with our two dogs and traveling. We are currently restoring our Craftsman Farmhouse in which we live.
