The property was easy to locate, very near downtown Hays. The house was clean and cozy, very well stocked with anyone's necessities. Would certainly stay there again.
Loved this house and it’s history! Enjoyed everything about it…location, patio space and all the extra touches from the host. Will definitely stay here again when back in Hays.
This review a bit late as stayed in late May. This property was beautiful, well maintained and nice touches provided from coffee, snacks and even fresh eggs. We stayed for 3 nights and location was great for us as close to downtown Hays and close to the university where my son goes. Of course nothing too far in Hays! LOL!
Great place. This was a 1 night stay for us. Neighborhood was clean safe lots of food options. House was very comfortable clean. Not many places in the area that allows dogs.
This property was great for our stay. We attended a concert at the Aquatic Center which is only a 2 block walk and also a short walk to other restaurants. Everything was very clean, there was no cleaning fee, and the owners didn't expect us to do much before checking out. It was a very pleasant experience and we are already talking about staying there again next time we are in town.
This property is in a great location to the campus and to several restaurants. The porch was a cozy place to sit on an unusually warm spring evening. The pieces of history in the hall gave us an idea of the house and the family that built it. Cool property.
My friend and I had a few days off at the same time, which is rare. This property was perfect for a quick getaway to shop and eat our way through downtown Hays. Very warm and inviting and even though it was on a busy street the sound machines in both bedrooms had us sleeping like babies. Everything we would need was available and even things we hadn’t thought of were there.
Cute little place; clean and tidy. Owner had great communication. Easy street/driveway parking (we had 2 trucks pulling trailers). The owner was very gracious in working out an arrangment with us when our original stay had to be cancelled last miniute because of a car issue en route. I think the kitchen could have been a bit better stocked with cooking utensils & dish cleanup; but I know many people don't cook when they stay overnight. Overall, it was a good experience!
Decided to explore Hays for a bit, on my way across the country I am so glad I did!! The restoration on this house has been beautifully done, preserving many characteristic features (push button light switches, turn-key doorbell, etc. Front porch beautifully shaded and very relaxing in a safe neighborhood.
The owners of this property struck a wonderful balance between an authentic historic feel and contemporary necessities such as a kitchen with the latest array of appliances. It was a trip back in the past overnight as we crossed Kansas. Make sure to read the notes on the property for awareness what to expect.
Third time at the Buffalo Haus. Perfect 1/2-way point between KC and the Rocky's. House is very well done historic building. Cool antiques, artwork, comfy bed, hot water, central AC and a great porch. Two block walk to a big park. Downstairs unit driveway is super convenient by porch/door. The Munsch's provide coffee beans, snacks and fresh eggs. Thanks we'll be back.
We were driving through Kansas and hate stopping at the boring hotels and fast food chains along the highway. We decided to stay closer to the main street area and loved this home. Really great sense of history and we had plenty of space for the two of us. While the yard is not enclosed, our dogs loved the green space and we had no issues getting around the house with my wife's wheelchair. She jus couldn't get into the kitchen, but i'm a chef, so...
Great job making the property very comfortable and inviting; plus adding some Kansas history. It was nice to be able to walk to dinner. The fresh eggs in the morning gave us a good start to our drive!
The host thought of everything! Items were easy to find (everything was labeled), nothing was over-looked! Very easy & enjoyable! Will book again!
