38 years at Camelot and my first disappointment
Where do I begin….first the good….location (oceanfront) amenities (pool) beds were comfortable ….. let’s first say I have pictures and voice mail to back up very thing I am about to say ….we walked in just after 5pm …. Upon unloading we noticed a note from the previous guests stating maintenance issues (fridge lightbulb burned out, tub did not drain and backsplash in one bathroom falling off wall…. Upon checking out these issues we found the cleaning crew never addressed them so now I gotta call and it is Saturday … we did not want our vacation plans interrupted and I said I did not want a crew coming in the unit when we were not there …. In the mean time my daughter says to me “mom your feet are filthy” upon checking things out I found the kitchen floor filthy….I did a quick wipe over with Lysol wipes and they are BLACK! Also found out later that evening the bathroom sink did not drain and backed up with tiny hairs (looked like someone shaved). Someone from Vacasa maintenance did finally call on Monday morning but we were on the beach so I called back during lunch which I had to leave a voicemail and he NEVER called back! So we bought a light for under $3 at the grocery story , my husband plunged the tub and was able to dislodge a wad of who knows who’s hair the bathroom back splash is still falling off and looks like the owners could give two craps about their unit …. The vents are rusty and bathroom flooring in the corners are all sandy and we never did use that bathroom sink! We utilized the kitchen sink for brushing our teeth since the 2nd bathroom was occupied with another family members bathroom supplies and personal affects. As previously stated we have been traveling to the Camelot for 38 years and for most of that time occupied one specific unit due to knowing the owners however the last 4 years we became renters and this unit was the worst in that building but the most expensive (not Kurt a couple hundred dollars either) I could honestly live with outdated furnishing if the property were well maintained so I put 95% of this blame on Vacasa….oh Btw let’s not forget the linens and towels… I was told they are cleaned and supplied by an outside company…well in the stretchy looking closets I found extra sheets and towels as well as in the laundry room so….i have my doubts if we received freshly laundered towels and linens …..the worst experience and like I said I have all the proof anyone needs to back up all my statements
