The decor is a little French country, a little shabby chic and a little eclectic. The sofa is down filled, as is the bedding, the sheets are top quality. The floors are whitewashed red pine. Rafters in the living room ceiling are made out of boxcars from Norfolk Western in 1939, when it was built as a fishing cabin. The cabin is artistically done and has twenty foot ceilings in the living room and kitchen. There is a sleeping loft upstairs for a child or young adult. Log exposed walls throughout, some whitewashed. The dining room overlooks the creek as does one part of the porch. Steps lead down to the creek. The space The cabin has the feeling of being in the woods, yet it’s right around the corner from grocery stores, fine dining, and great boutiques in little neighborhoods. Perched aside a rushing creek, you can sit on the porch and listen to nature. Or you can jump in the car and be at a fabulous restaurant in just a few minutes. Blue ridge parkway is less than ten minutes away. Downtown is fifteen minutes where the historical Roanoke market draws an eclectic group of people. Other things to note Will leave a list on the kitchen counter with things to do, vineyards to visit, restaurants to dine. Also recommendations for neat shops to visit. Black Dog Salvage is one such place. Also the Historic City Market and Market Street. Grandin Road Village, and a tiny mountain town named Floyd.
