The nearest villages for access to various services (mini-market, bakery, doctor, pharmacy, post office, garage, tobacconist, etc.) are Saint-Sernin-sur-Rance and Coupiac, both 8 km away. Le Cayla is located 45 km from Albi and 33 km from Saint-Affrique. From Le Cayla, you can take various excursions, either heading towards Millau (Tarn Gorges, Millau Viaduct, Saint-Affrique, Roquefort) or towards Albi (Ambialet, Albi, Cordes-sur-Ciel). Le Cayla is located halfway between two UNESCO World Heritage sites: "Albi" (Sainte-Cécile Cathedral, Toulouse-Lautrec Museum) and "Causses and Cévennes" (landscapes of the Larzac plateau, the Tarn and Jonte Gorges). On site, there are numerous marked hiking trails maintained by the Grands Causses Regional Natural Park and the Roquefort Country Tourist Office. There are plenty of water sources in summer. To cool off: swimming pool in Saint-Sernin, lake in Coupiac, canoe rental in Trébas (19 km) to go down the Tarn towards Albi. Take a day trip to discover the Millau Viaduct, or the Templar and Hospitaller sites (La Cavalerie, La Couvertoirade, Sainte Eulalie de Cernon, le Viala de Pas de Jaux, Saint Jean d'Alcas, ...).
