About this property

Our cottage is completely stand-alone next to the main house. Guests will have access to the backyard with a fire pit, gazebo, outdoor fireplace, and koi pond (new koi just added!). The cottage features a queen bed, twin futon, mini fridge, television, wireless internet, toaster oven, microwave, dishes, flatware, Keurig coffeemaker, filtered water pitcher, and easy access to downtown Clifton Forge. Fenced yard.

We also have a young Chocolate Labrador Retriever named David and an even younger Yellow Labrador Retriever named Stevie who loves meeting new people and dog friends.

Additionally, we have a bee hive on the property. While our bees live in their hive, if you do not bother them, they are content to go about their own bee business.

Perfect

I stay here once a month for work. It's consistently quiet, clean and comfortable. It's quaint and has all of the extras! Would totally recommend!

Wonderful stay!

My friend and I stayed 2 nights so that we could visit the hot springs. It was just what we needed--clean, quiet, and safe. The hosts thought of everything and had so many nice extras available--snacks, water, coffee, etc. I would definitely stay here again and have already recommended it to other friends.

Great Thanksgiving Stay

This is our second time staying here and it was perfect. The location is close to family. Ron and Kristin are great hosts! We plan on staying here for all our upcoming trips.

Weekend in Clifton Forge

We had a great stay along with our dog Mack. Host was very communicative and considerate. Apartment was well stocked and definately met our needs. Would stay here again.

About the host

Hosted by Kristen

Ron and I moved to Clifton Forge from Florida at the end of 2020. We began renovating immediately on our Main House and really haven't stopped since. We have lived all around the world serving in both the military and the civilian government corps, but there is nowhere in the world we would rather be than this quaint little railroad town.

Why they chose this property

We loved the history and grandeur of the 1890-built Main House. Kristen's maternal-side family is from this area, which is our tie to Clifton Forge. The Cottage was a bonus, and after using it solely for family and friends, we decided we should share this wonderful space with others too.

What makes this property unique

Life here is quiet and relaxing. Little traffic and low crime. It's a small community with a hometown feel. Ron and I have put a lot of love and work into our house, cottage, and backyard, and we hope you will enjoy it as much as we do.
