About this property

Stoney Ridge Lighthouse

The lighthouse is located on 50 acres of wooded property on Rock Lake in central Minnesota (about 2 hours northwest of the twin cities). The 2,000 square foot lighthouse has seven levels, including the crows nest that is over 50 feet high, here guests can see over the canopy of the trees. It is a timber framed structure that includes 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.

The property the lighthouse sits on is connected to 500 acres of state land, there is ample room for snowshoeing, cross country skiing and endless walks in the woods. The small lake (11 acres) is about 500 feet away from the lighthouse and there is private access to the lake for the guests to use as well as a campfire ring. We provide kayaks, a paddle boat, and a canoe. There is a swimming raft in the in the middle of the lake for the guests as well.

Stunning!

The lighthouse was absolutely spectacular, very clean, 3-bathrooms which I failed to recall when booking - major plus. The place was exactly how it was described, even better in person. The location was perfect - many little towns nearby to visit. One heads up, there are a lot of stairs (obviously) to consider if elders are attending (though there is a very lovely ground floor bedroom. We definitely are planning to visit again in the Fall.

Perfect weekend getaway

Celebrated a couple 40th birthdays last weekend. The photos of lighthouse do not do it justice. The home is beautiful, craftsmanship and architecture to admire on every level. The hosts are available and easy to communicate with. Comfy clean beds, more bathrooms than we needed. Spacious kitchen and huge table to enjoy meals together. We enjoyed a fire by the lake, walking in the woods, playing games and putting together puzzles on all levels of the house. Cannot recommend this place enough.

Anniversary/Birthday get away

We stayed with one other couple-family. The place was amazing. I think the listing was spot on and Donna was super easy to communicate with. We've stayed on the their other property and both were great experiences. Would definitely recommend and stay again.

Lighthouse Thanksgiving

We recently spent our Thanksgiving at Stoney Ridge Lighthouse. What an experience! Beautiful property, lake access, great views, CLEAN hot tub, hiking trails, wildlife and wonderful hosts! A few things that could improve the already wonderful experience: a wifi booster as it cut out the higher you go up in the lighthouse, no laundry access - a washer and dryer would of been great for any guests with small children, change out the shower liner in the main floor bathroom, and a disclaimer to bring strong legs because getting up to that top floor is no joke! Regardless, if you like silence and slow nights and doing your own thing (like us) and getting away from everyone, this is the place for you. We'll be back for warmer weather! Thank you Mr. and Mrs. Lange!

A fun, new experience with friends

We had a high school girls weekend. The place was immaculate. The views from all the windows are awesome, with many windows, and of course the upper 2 levels of the lighthouse. We were fortunate to be there when the leaves were bright yellow. It was beautiful. The crafmanship of the woodworking is amazing. Real attention to detail. I would definitely recommend staying here.

My daughter and I were amazed when we first arrived at how beautiful the Lighthouse was! Then we stepped inside and went WOW! It is absolutely gorgeous on EVERY floor. The craftsmanship is spectacular and we loved our stay. Beautiful setting and so relaxing. Would highly recommend!

Celebrating our Anniversary

We wanted a peaceful get away for a couple days. This place was perfect! Very clean enjoyed the views from up top the lighthouse as well as sitting looking out the beautiful windows. Also, enjoyed the hot tub and paddle boat ride on the lake.

Quiet, relaxing haven!

We booked for an annual girls weekend and it was the perfect stay! Secluded and quiet, absolutely gorgeous property! We each had our own space, with a lot of options for hanging out in comfort! The “circle room” was a favorite hangout with the awesome table up top! Highly recommend this property and owner! Such a great experience!!

Unique & memorable getaway

Wish we could have stayed longer. This lighthouse is amazing and the whole family loved it! This lighthouse is built on a beautiful property with plenty of privacy and a short walk down to the private lake. If you are looking for a quiet getaway where you will be able to create lasting memories, this is it. There's not much nearby so we bought all of our meals ahead of time and didn't ever have to leave which was nice. There's a grill on site with a large patio table, perfect for enjoying meals with the outdoors.

Great property!

As a VRBO property owner myself, the thing that made me the most impressed with the Lighthouse was that this property was absolutely spotless! So much character in this property and my kids, ages 2-9, had an absolute blast! Something to keep in mind if you're bring a trailer for trail riding, it's a very narrow gravel road to get to the property and not the easiest to turn around in. Also, note on this property (Which is unlike many VRBO rentals), there are absolutely no refunds or cancellations (even with a 3 month notice). The owner offered for me to book another date but this property was booked out to the end of the year. Overall a great experience and very friendly, helpful owners!

Great Get-Away

Myself and 10 other friends celebrated together for a girls trip. It was so fun being in nature and the property had everything we needed to make it a great time. The hosts were very communicative. We were pleased to see that they check the hot tub daily to ensure cleanliness! No worries about enjoying a soak on a cool summer evening. The only thing I will say is that if you are planning to stay you should expect to climb some stairs though there is one bedroom and bathroom on the main level. Would recommend!

An amazing, unique VRBO

This VRBO exceeded our expectations. It was so unique and well built. The craftmanshift was amazing and the view from the top was beautiful and oh so peaceful. The kids loved the paddle boats and kayaks. It was hard to leave. Donna and Dean were great hosts and responded quickly to our needs.
