Not what we bargained for
After at least 20 excellent stays through VRBO and other short term rentals, it had to happen. Not a good experience.
We learned just before check-in that the Wifi was not working and that "the equipment had been ordered." This was a stay that required my access to Wifi for work on Friday night and Saturday, and we had also planned to use the nice TV as advertised to watch college football as a family Saturday evening. I received feedback that they were coming to rectify it after reaching out Saturday morning to ask if anything was being done, and the last contact came at 11:30 in the morning that they would confirm the time, then nothing. If it is a cable modem problem, that is a quick trip to the cable provider store to get a new one. If it is a router problem, then Best Buy has plenty. I would give the responsiveness a 0 star. I wish they would have let us know, and we could have easily arranged to stay at another place, but I guess they didn't want to lose the rental.
The place is nice and looks as advertised, but they don't tell you about the bank of 4 air handlers right under the Master Bedroom window. Good news is that you can't hear the air handlers when the freight train rumbles parallel the back property line for its length. Several times in the wee hours.
I had a choice between two properties we were watching. I made the wrong decision.
