We also rent tubs and kayaks. We have another location 2 miles up river which is our tubing/kayaking put in. Shuttles run back and forth during the high season every day and most weekends during the off season (we do not run shuttles in the winter however and shuttles must be scheduled ahead of time). Our section of the river is very family friendly and has no dangerous dams or rapids. It’s a great place for beginners to kayak and just about anyone can tube. We provide free life jacket use for non or weak swimmers.

Girls weekend
For the most part our stay was as expected. Kitchen amenities could of been a bit better. Property has an outdoor grill but now grilling tools that seemed odd. We did find some trash under beds and back porch. There is a weird smell not sure where its coming from. Kinda smells like propane. The wifi login & password info given for tv and internet did not work. Called to get resolved an didnt get anything resolved. The cabin walls are pretty thin so It was quite annoying that you could hear everything going on in cabin #3. Kids screaming/crying late into the night. Running around and moving chairs constantly. Staff seems non existant and not very frei day or helpful. You have a beautiful place here but we probably wont come back again.

Relaxing but meah
We had a very relaxing time. We will come back again butttttt. There was several issues. There's was trash on the porch, lights that's didn't reach a plug, filthy air filters, flickering light in the fridge, a used condom by the firepit, the view wasn't what I expected, this is to name a few. Like I said very relaxing and enjoyable but maybe could use a better cleaning service.

No view of the river
It was a short walk to the river. String of lights were out front to allow for visiting after dark at picnic tables. Hammock and BBQ grill under the lights as well. Front door had a cut glass window that allowed outdoor lights to shine in at night. Lights stayed on all night.

My name is Karin Rettele. I am a professional property manager, wife and Mom of four.
I was born and raised in this area and grew up floating the river, going to the nearby lakes, catching concerts at Gruene and White Water Amphitheater, having fun at Schlitterbahn and all the other fun activities in this area offer!

I love going out to eat and trying new placed with my Husband Jessie. I can recommend places to eat as well as having fun but my main focus is to make sure your cabin is clean and your stay with us is comfortable and convenient! Please let us know if you need anything.

Why they chose this property

Son's Blue River Camp is located on the gorgeous and family friendly San Marcos River near Fentress, TX! This part of the river is ideal for tubing as there are no dangerous dams or rapids and the river flows at a nice pace allowing you to float with little to no paddling!

This section of the River is also ideal for families. You won't find the college scene here. Instead, floaters will find a beautiful blue river, outlined with majestic cypress and pecan trees which creates a peaceful, relaxing and enjoyable float. And since the San Marcos River is spring-fed, the river flows nice all summer long and doesn't dry up or slow down like the Guadalupe and Frio Rivers do.

Son's River Ranch is located 2 miles up river and is our tubing/kaying put in. We have shuttles that run between the 2 properties everyday in the summer, on most weekends in the spring and fall and by reservation in the winter. Tubing and laying is a must if you come to Son's Blue River Camp!

What makes this property unique

The fishing is excellent! You will routinely see Fly Fishing Guides guide trips from Fentress to our takeout. Anglers try thee hand at catching small mouth, large mouth, sunporch, catfish and more!

We have some of the best BBQ in the state in the local town nearby. Be sure to try City Market in Luling and Smitty's in Lockhart when you come! It's finger-licking good!

We are surrounded by large farms and ranches. It’s peaceful and relaxing and the stars shine bright at night! There is so much fun to be had and things to do on the San Marcos River and Son’s Blue River Camp!
