Do not stay here.

We rented this house for a 2 month work trip. We arrived at night only to find no heat working, my husband had to fix the unit since the host wouldn’t get a repair man to come until the next evening & the host told us to “just go buy heaters” (not an option w 3 small kids, it was freezing!). I also found a review from a guest 2weeks prior to us who arrived to no heat also-so he clearly knew it was an issue before we arrived (but claimed it was fine just before we got there!) Then we had to go buy a carbon monoxide detector cause that wasn’t working either & he wouldn’t get one. The gas tech came & replaced the filter because it was black/nasty! We had to go buy a vacuum bc the provided one was so clogged (Note-the host approved these items we had to buy, said he would refund us but has yet to do so.) Then we noticed water on the floor from the dishwasher, we were told someone would come Saturday evening but never heard what time & then he said they would be there Monday. We asked if we could leave & get a refund for the remaining days but were told that we were being “unreasonable”.After 2days of the leak we checked the basement to see if the water damage was going through, it was & we also found a large area of existing mold. The host stop replying to us for 2 days,he finally replied & ignored everything i had said & accused us of disconnecting the camera outside, which we never touched. Finally after dealing w/VRBO we left this property. Avoid this “host” & his properties.

No heat and Broken Electric Box

The house itself was decent. However, we got inside and it was FREEZING. The home owner told us just "wait it out" and it would eventually come on, however the thermostat setting wouldn't even switch over to heat. After waiting several hours, we called him back and he didn't answer his phone. I contacted him the next day and he responded at 7 pm at night and told us to switch the breaker on and off -which we had tried the night before. I had to purchase 3 space heaters to stay warm and then an electrical in 2 of the rooms went out where my kids were staying and the breaker box fuse for those rooms was duct taped so it couldn't be flipped on or off - the actually breaker was broken!!! I contacted the property owner several more times, and he responded on Sunday telling me that the people who left on Saturday told him there were no issues - that's interesting considering we were there ALL WEEKEND!! We didn't check out until Sunday! I wrote again to inform him we left on Sunday and would be contacting VRBO - to which he finally responded on Tuesday and accused me of taking advantage and that I'm just trying to get a refund! Just WOW! He said he was there personally on Sunday and there were no issues and the breaker worked fine - that's ironic that he showed up AFTER we left and was unreachable all weekend. The worst VRBO we have ever stayed at, and would not recommend or ever return to this property.

Good stay

We had a really great stay, the house was clean and kitchen well stocked with things needed (and the coffee pods were a nice touch!). We appreciated the good communication between the owner. We could have used some towels specifically for the bathrooms (and a towel rack or hooks for towels!). One thing that we didn’t love was the intensity around recycling. We found it very stressful and the threat to go through our garbage felt quite invasive and then to charge us extra if we don’t do it perfectly to her standards was stressful, so we ended up just taking our garbage and disposing of it on our own. Other than that we had a great stay! Thank you!
