Tucked away in the historic Handel's neighborhood, the Railroad Ranch boasts NASA-based tech that provides clean air you can trust and smart technology that makes your stay enjoyable. A fully stocked kitchen if you're into home-cooked meals. Rest in the Queen, full, or twin beds with premium sheets and covers—just minutes from downtown, shopping, parks, and entertainment. We'll make sure you enjoy your stay at The Railroad Ranch! This is the place to stay while visiting Youngstown, Ohio.

The ranch is centrally located between Youngstown and Boardman/Canfield/Poland. 5-8 minutes from all shopping, hospitals, college, entertainment, and restaurants.

Private location, entire apartment, fully equipped kitchen, free washer and dryer (detergent not included), and some covered parking. One story, no stairs, walk-in shower.
Complimentary amenities for guests include Travel size shampoo, conditioner, lotion, bar soap, wrapped toothbrushes, toothpaste, a roll of paper towels, small dish soap, coffee, decaf K-cups, sweeteners, and powdered creamer.

Enough toilet paper to TP the neighbors' house, basic cleaning supplies, hand soap, hand sanitizer, oil and spray oil, basic cooking spices, towels, washcloths, dishrags, all bedding, Snacks, bottled water, and more!

**PETS**
All pets must be added to the reservation.
A $50.00 cleaning fee is included upon adding them to the reservation. If you have more than two pets, please send an inquiry.

**Smoking**
There is a designated smoking area in the back.

**Work Group Terms** We welcome workgroups working in the area. When you are booking the reservation for your workers and not planning on staying at The Railroad Ranch yourself, the following three requests are required:

1. ID, Contact information of foreman to be shared with the host.
2. A 35.00 non-refundable damage waiver or refundable 100 deposit is required to secure the reservation.
3. The host will perform a video walkthrough at check-in and check-out when applicable.
4. If this is a last-minute booking, access to Station Three will be granted once the first three requirements are met.

The guest and workgroup agree to the Work Group Terms when a reservation is booked, and a reservation code has been assigned. Please complete requests 1-3 before check-in to avoid a cancellation performed and not to affect the host's cancellation status on the platform.

This property was well-stocked and clean. Beds were comfie and linens were plentiful. Parking was a little tight but there was only one other family using just one space so it wasn't a problem. We were a little worried as we drove to the property because the neighborhood is a little sketchy but felt safe once we were settled in. The owner seems to really care about his rental.

Great place to stay!

We were looking for somewhere to stay that wasn’t a hotel (because 5 people in a hotel can be a bit much!) and this place was PERFECT!!! Exceptionally clean, snacks and lots of coffee were available, everything is controlled by technology. Great communication from the sweet and kind owner (that wasn’t upset at all when we set off the house alarm at 10:30pm!!! Haha) My husband, kids, dog and I felt right at home. We would definitely stay here again if we’re in the area! Thank you!

High tech experience

For technology challenged me, I found it amusing to be greeted by AI Ziggy on arrival and departure. It was a "hoot" asking Ziggy to turn on and turn off the lights and lo and behold it was done. Unfortunately Ziggy does not make one coffee though. In the bedroom, you have Alexa who also can turn on and off the lights as well. . It was amusing to ask Alexa to play various songs. Stumped her on a few. Still an impressive music library on Spotify.

This rental house had literally everything you would need to live there. All normal home appliances including washer and dryer. It had the pans you need to cook, the dishes needed to prepare and eat food, and even the spices you use most often to cook with. I brought my Maltese with me and felt very safe walking her up and down the road several times a day. The neighborhood tenants are very aware of strangers but also very friendly if you are the chatty type. I would gladly recommend others to rent this house. Wayne was an amazing host and went out of his way to ensure I had everything I needed. 11/10 for us. This was a bit more expensive than a hotel but we would do it again in a heartbeat. Was absolutely worth it.

For you technology buffs

Wayne has put a lot of time and effort in updating this property, and what a wonderful place it is. For you technology buffs coming in and being greeted by an electronic device known as Ziggy, who welcomes you and tells you about the residence. On voice prompts, Ziggy can control the lighting, the temperature of the house (not sure about the TV . For all I know it can turn the Keurig on and brew you a cup of coffee. Then in the master bedroom you got Alexa, who on voice prompts can turn the lights on and off, and play just about any song requested ( but I did stump her on a couple of requests) Wayne was on the property at the time, renovating the front unit. Had a great time spending time with him. Across the street from the property are train rails, and commercials trains do traverse on those rails from time to time. hence why he gives his property its name. Great place to stay. I'll be back again.

I have a wife and 3 kids. I've been in the people business for over 20 years and have always believed if you help enough people get what they want, you can have everything you want in life. I am passionate about creating a memorable experience for my guests. I love greeting guests at the property and helping them with parking and a few technical nuances regarding the ranch. After a quick introduction, I'm out of your hair unless you need more of anything.

Why they chose this property

This property was originally a rental unit consisting of a 2-bedroom unit and a 3-bedroom unit. I'm in the process of renovating the 3 bedroom unit attached.

My neighbor turned their home into a vacation rental and I absolutely loved their theme! Everyone that's been there to visit has been great! In May of 2021, I lost my job in the car business just after getting a vacancy at my duplex. It was at that moment that I felt it was time for a change. We began construction sometime in June and our first guest was November 11th, 2021. I completely gutted the unit and set it up with smart tech and warm decor. The first thing I heard from my first guests was "we had a lot of fun!" That's exactly what I wanted to hear.

What makes this property unique

The Railroad Ranch is located in the historic Handels neighborhood. Handels ice cream was founded in 1945 and the neighborhood store stays open year-round and only closes on Christmas. The Ranch is positioned in a secluded manner. Fencing on two sides and another house on the third. It's quiet and occasionally gets a train to pass by. I challenge guests to try and snap a pic while they are visiting or crush a penny or two.
