Thank you for your positive review, Sonya! We're glad to hear that you had a great experience at Timberroot. We hope to welcome you back in the future!
We stayed one night while visiting some friends staying in a nearby RV park so we didn't get to enjoy the cabin and property as much as we would have liked. The cabin is small but perfect for the 2 of us and had everything we needed. It was clean and charming with a great outdoor area overlooking the creek.

Very neat place! Cabins are laid out with plenty of room for privacy. Stream and river, with many added areas and 'easter eggs' laid out around the property. Customer service was excellent.I plan on visiting again!

My family stayed one night while traveling through the area. The cabin is very cute and decorated well. The area it is in is nice as well, we’re talking about coming back at a later date to spend more time! The only thing I would change is the mattress in the bedroom, it was sinking in the middle and made it hard to get comfortable.

Perfect for our weekend trip. This sweet little cabin tucked away in the perfect setting. Just wish I had hot water to take a relaxing bubble bath after a day's hike. Not sure why we didn't have hot water, but we still enjoyed our stay.

The guest books go back years & years. Unfortunately all pages were full so we didn't get an opportunity to add a note from our visit.
Clean & comfy. My teens loved their loft. Setting & Decor gave us all the right vibes for a cabin getaway.
Ocoee River rafting nearby was awesome.

Thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry to hear the bed wasn’t comfortable for you. We know how important a good night’s rest is, and we’ll have our team check on the mattress to ensure it meets our standards. We appreciate you staying with us and hope the rest of your visit was enjoyable.
This cottage was perfect for 2 people. It also has space for an additional 2 people (children?) in the loft upstairs but there is only one bathroom. The house itself is very small, but it has everything you need. The kitchen has a small fridge, a microwave and a small oven/stove. We rode the Hiwassee Loop on the train and this place met all our needs for an overnight stay. It would also be a great place to stay for a rafting trip on the Ocoee.

We’re so glad you enjoyed your stay, Laura! It sounds like you had the relaxing escape we aim to provide with Timberroot Rustic Retreats. Thank you for choosing us, and we can’t wait to welcome you back whenever you’re ready for another peaceful retreat here at Welcome Valley Village!
As a family of 10, we often find it necessary to get away from the noise of modern life in order to connect with our kids. We have experienced amazing adventures as a family from the Great Smoky Mountains to the Canyon walls of Zion National Park and along the way we have found opportunities to become hosts to fellow nature-loving travelers.
Our first opportunity for creating memorable vacation experiences began in 2018 when Nicole & I purchased the property next to our family home. In a labor of love, we converted the existing trailer park into Wauhatchie Woodlands, a family-friendly rustic retreat at the foot of Lookout Mt. TN. We replaced the trailers with tiny log cabins naming them after our 9 children, and a number of beautiful people that we have “adopted” into our family over the years.
Nicole and I feel that creating opportunities for families to connect is an important part of the vacation experience. In order to facilitate family bonding, we included gathering spaces throughout the property with fire pits, private hot tubs, a playground, and a duck pond.
Our little slice of heaven grew to include our Skyuka Chalet, Wauhatchie Blue House, the May Family Home, and the newly renovated Alford Hill House.
In 2020 our second opportunity to host vacationers came when we acquired Pinewoods Resort in Duck Creek Village Utah. Utah is a state that has held a special place in my heart since the moment I experienced her breathtaking beauty in a person as a college student. Nicole and I have taken our children out there many times and now that my eldest daughter is attending college at the University of Utah, I have an “excuse” to fly out there on a regular basis.
Welcome Valley Village is our most recent opportunity to host fellow travelers and we hope to live up to the legacy its original founder Warnie Dooly Finnell left behind.
