We had a rainy weekend and we still really enjoyed our stay here. Communication is great and the family is already wanting to come back. Ensure to bring extra towels…
Wonderful location for friends to gather for a long weekend, accommodated all 10 adults no problem

Thank you so much Carina's review! I am very happy to see that you enjoyed your stay and it was a pleasure for us to welcome you! Looking forward to host you again in the future!
The view was great but the lake was frozen so a little different I think than if it was summer. Was cool seeing people drifting on the frozen lake though. Rooms were great, good sizes, awesome large main bedroom, noise from the living does carry upstairs as there is no door to separate it. I thought downstairs had a bigger living room of it own, so was not expecting that, but it worked out just fine. Open living, dining, kitchen was great for everyone hanging out.
Beautiful remote location, would have loved to stay longer. Maybe we will come back to enjoy in the summer.

Thank you so much Mary for taking the time to write this review! I am very happy to see that you enjoyed your stay and it was a pleasure for us to welcome you!
We were in the country for the Calgary Stampede and wanted to experience the countryside and not city! This was absolutely perfect for our trip!! We had a big buck deer literally come up to the basement window which was so cool!! The only complaint my husband had was there really isn’t fishing
Perfect location for our group with activities on Ghost Lake! Enjoyed the stay and was clean. There are not enough bath towels or any kitchen towels included so just be sure to bring your own! Easy to check in, lots of dishes etc. Thanks!
I spent two nights here with my closest friends. The rooms were very comfortable and spacious. The house was beautiful and set up very well for us. The living arrangements are really well set up.The house had all the amenities are gonna need, and anything that you do have to bring is emailed to you in advance. Communication with the host was super easy. The main reason I booked, this house was for the accommodation size and the hot tub!Accommodations were perfect. I wish the hot tub would’ve been a bit more updated, but I was communicated that the well water does stain. Also directions to the house was temporarily difficult, but I recommend using Google maps instead of Apple Maps! It does seem like you are trespassing on private property because you do drive down an unmaintained gravel road for a little ways.Check in and check out was super easy.I would definitely stay here again! It’s a perfect quiet retreat, not far from the city.
This was like stepping into a different time and place. The house, although dated, has a seamless European vibe with fixtures and details that are uncommon, authentic and charming. The home was obviously much loved and cared-for when it was built and is an absolutely perfect summer home. The location is so beautiful, overlooking the turquoise water of ghost lake with multiple patios from which to take in the view. We went with friends and cooked gourmet meals together in the open kitchen then feasted at the big dining room table that is the focal point of the main floor. It was delightful. The place has also seen better days... The grounds are not well cared-for with lots of dead plants, most things are quite worn-out, with broken stairs to the water and a completely buckled and inaccessible dock. Even with all of that, we still just loved this place for its uniqueness and character.
Disappointed about the bring your own towels I understand for the hot tub but dish towels??? Only 9 forks and there were 10 of us. As well the amount of flies were kind of disgusting and the 3 zappers on the main floor
The property was very secluded and the house was comfortable and cozy for our group of five. The manager was always there when we needed him so thank you Jason.
Great atmosphere. Had all the amenities we needed and more. Week days were great as the lake was NOT busy !!!!! Enjoyed the hot tub!! Comfy beds !!!!!!!!

Ghost Lake
A beautiful view of the lake! A lovely, private property that could use some TLC and maintenance. Overgrown, needs deep cleaning, dusting, cupboard and kitchen reorganization. There were minimal towels, no hand soap, no kettle, some rickety furniture.
(I got stabbed in the back by an upholstery nail of one such dining room chair.)
The dock needs the approach fixed as a longstanding beaver lodge has built over it leaving a dangerous, slippery approach. Some deck furniture was rotten rattan which should be thrown out and replaced.
Do bring your own water as the well water is very odorous.
A manual should be provided for operations of appliances, and effort to provide tourist information on places to visit (like the Wolfdog Sanctuary nearby) etc.
There was only a lockbox entry, in an isolated location.
We really enjoyed the hot tub in the trees!
But bring your own lake toys, books and family games as there weren't any...
Of all the VRBO places I've been to, this one made the least effort for travelers. This could be a phenomenal property!
This cabin was the perfect place for a group of friends to get away. Just steps away from the doc on the water with a very large deck to watch the sunset and large hot tub to enjoy when the nights got cooler. I would love to book this place again next year!
