Thank you Julie! I look forward to having you all back anytime!
Over overall, it was a great time. The place was very accommodating and check in and check out was very easy. Communication from the host was excellent. Conveniently located to trails, grocery stores & lots of great places to eat. Plenty of parking for side-by-sides, trailers and trucks. There weee four of ys with trucks & trailers. Spacious house equipped well with towels, laundry , pots, pans, etc. Will definitely stay again.
If you are wanting to ride the Hatfield-McCoy trail system this is the place for you. Easy access to Warrior, Pinnacle, Indian Ridge, and Pocahontas.
Very clean, roomy, and tons of extras. This is not a small cabin to get by. If you need a break one day from ridding the trails this is a great place to lounge around.
Great property if you're looking for separate bedrooms for guests.
We really enjoyed Ronnie's Place during our trip to the Hatfield McCoy trails. This property is located in the center of 4 trails systems so it's in a great location. The only issue during our stay was the host asked me to not park UTVs on the blacktop driveway as she was not wanting it to get dirty, this request came after we parked there and it had rained. The advertisement for this rental appears to be UTV friendly so I was surprised by the hosts request to keep dirt off of the lot. Clear signage of expectations would be beneficial for this issue. She was available for any needs I had during the stay and would recommend this to any ATV/UTV groups.

Hi Krystal, we are glad you enjoyed your stay. I’m sorry about the confusion but parking on the driveway is fine, it was just the pressure washing under the carport that we wanted to address as it would leave a huge mess behind but I do appreciate that you guys cleaned it up. We are setting up a specific area for that now so that the mud will run away from the house and not on the drive. We were a little surprised to see the RV hooked up to the house as we had not discussed that but that will now be a service we will start offering. So in short, we did learn a lot from your stay and you guys had a great time as well. Hope to see ya come back!
Easy rental. Great place with plenty of room. Everything you need they had. Plenty of parking. Firewood was a available for a cost but that was reasonable. Great folks to work with.

About the host
Hosted by Paula Calloway
Hi there! I’m Paula, and this house is very special to me—it was my Dad’s place, and by welcoming guests like you, we’re able to keep it in the family and share it with others. I spend quite a bit of time here myself, escaping my busy life back in North Carolina. It’s my favorite getaway, and I’m always adding little touches after my own stays to make sure it feels like a true home away from home—fully stocked with everything you might need (and a few extras I discover along the way).
What makes this property unique
This is a comfortable, well-loved 1980s doublewide that we’ve expanded over the years. It’s clean, cozy, and constantly getting fresh updates, but it’s not a brand-new build—think classic charm with modern conveniences. The 5-acre property feels wonderfully private with no visible neighbors, and the tree-lined yard gives it a secluded, peaceful vibe. That said, the house sits along Hwy 52 (Coal Heritage Road), so you’ll hear coal trucks and regular traffic, especially on weekdays when you’re relaxing outside. The trees help muffle it, but it’s part of the local rhythm here. What I love most is how this place makes you feel truly unplugged—like stepping back to a simpler time. The pace is slow, the people are genuinely friendly, and the whole area has that warm, down-home Appalachian spirit. It’s the perfect reset after a day ripping up the Hatfield-McCoy Trails. We’re so glad you’re considering a stay—hope you love it as much as we do!
