The Baltic Sea is located at the entrance to the peninsula Darß / Zingst. Dierhagen is embedded in a particularly scenic location between the Baltic and the Saal Bodden. The old districts Dierhagen village and Dändorf located along the inland water Saal Bodden, the settlements Neuhaus, Dierhagen beach and Dierhagen East emerged right on the dunes of the Baltic Sea. Stone Free beaches (7 km long), coastal forests and dunes, protected Moore, wide meadows and verschilfte Bodden shores are characteristic of this land. Popular destinations are next to the Fischland peninsula, called the "Rostock heath" with well-developed bicycle and hiking trails as well as cultural sites inland. Sporting and cultural height points are the harbor festival, the barrel-knocking and Zeesbootregatta.
