Touch of Grey - Riverfront home, pet friendly, near Boone and West Jefferson

Touch of Grey is our second river front mountain cabin. Enjoy beautiful river views in a quiet natural setting where you can enjoy activities in the slow-moving water of the South Fork New River, watch the wildlife from the rockers on the deck. About 5 minute drive to Blue Ridge Parkway and 10 minutes to downtown West Jefferson for shopping and dining. Great hiking trails abound.

Single level living in this cozy, riverfront cabin. The living room offers leather furnishings, a wood stove, and mounted flat screen TV with YouTube TV and streaming abilities. The kitchen has granite counters, stainless appliances, and a Keurig for that first cup of the day. Two barstools are at the counter, with 2 additional chairs in the bedrooms if there is a full house. A full size washer and dryer set are tucked in the closet for easy access.

Although the home offers single level living, there are 11 steps from parking area down to the home, and additional stairs to access the river. You should not plan on using this space if your mobility is limited.

• Check In is after 4pm. Check Out is by 10am
• Pets are welcome for an additional rent of $25/night each.
• Firewood for the wood stove may be added by reaching out to us more than a week in advance. You receive two wrapped bundles and a fire starter for $25/night.
• Guests may wish to bring along a bluetooth speaker for music.
• The neighborhood road is gravel and is on a slope. You should have no trouble driving in standard car if you are familiar with gravel; otherwise, please bring 4WD or AWD. If there is snow or ice on the ground 4 wheel drive would be required. Motorcycles may not travel well on the loose gravel road.
• Guests returning to Touch of Grey may receive a discount of 5%, not to be combined with other discounts to the room rent.
• Touch of Grey is next door to Knotty Pine and they share river access through the new stone steps into the New River, located in front of Knotty Pine.

Great Long Weekend!

Awesome long weekend! We loved it and so did our pup (glad it was dog friendly)! Very quiet and peaceful and included everything you could think of needing. And super clean! Side note is that there is no easy access to get into the river as it appears. Thankfully had nice people saying in houses next to us to allow us to use their stairs to enter. Also the house uses well water so smells of strong iron - bring bottled water to drink and be warned when showering!
