About this property
Bright and peaceful apartment on a 14 acre farm
Our house provides a peaceful farm getaway while still offering lots of local attractions. Convenient to wineries, farm markets, the Flying Circus, and Shenandoah National Park. We are a little over a mile from Great Marsh Estate, so this is a great place to stay if you are in town for an event there. Or just relax at our farm and enjoy our brand new pool!
The space includes a fully stocked kitchen, open living/dining space, and an outdoor deck.
The bedroom has a queen-size bed with a brand new memory foam mattress. There is a pocket door that separates the living space from the bedroom. The bathroom is on the bedroom side of the pocket door.
The bathroom has radiant heating to keep your toes toasty on cold days. The shower is spacious and has a handheld sprayer and seat, making it great for those with mobility issues or if you just need to shave your legs. We offer shampoo, conditioner, and body wash.
The living room has a brand new sofa bed. There is one television in the living room with a Roku so you can easily sign in to your own streaming services. We have high speed internet for all your workation and internet needs. The apartment also has a DVD player, a small DVD collection, and games to help you stay entertained.
The kitchen includes a toaster oven, microwave, coffee maker, crockpot, pots and pans, cutlery, knives, cooking utensils, pots, pans, plates, bowls, cups, and Tupperware containers. We provide coffee, tea, sugar, salt, pepper, some spices, and some condiments in the fridge.
We offer a pool, some toys, a basketball court, a pack n' play, and a travel changing pad in case you are traveling with little ones.
We have a washer and dryer in the basement of our home which is solely for guest use. You just have to walk around to the back of the house to use it.
Our property includes 8 acres of open fields and 6 acres of woods. Hydrangeas and deciduous holly hedges add some color to the scenery. Overhead, we often see old-timey bi-planes, ultralights, sky-divers, and hot air balloons which adds some whimsy to our lives.
This apartment is attached to our home. We share a front porch.
There is space for one car next to the entrance of the apartment and there is room for more cars around the back of the house.
We built this energy-efficient home largely by ourselves. We are very proud of it and happy to share it with guests.

Very relaxing country stay. Close to the concert we attended in Bristow, Va. Very clean and just as described. Loved the chickens and fresh egg breakfast Sunday morning.
The accommodations were just perfect for us. Needed a place close to Great Marsh Place to attend a wedding. It was a 3 minute drive which was appreciated since it was raining hard and we didn’t want to drive an hour home at night. The listing is accurate. The Host was very responsive and we appreciated it.
It is quiet and peaceful. The pool area is clean and manicured. Only real issue was due to flight delays we arrived after dark and the number wasn't as bright as I would have liked. Took about 15 minutes to ensure I was at the correct location. It's a hidden gem!
Everything was nice and as expected. 2 complaints. 1). A lot of flies inside the unit. Not sure if it has to do with being on a farm.2). Bed was a queen vs. a king.
A really lovely property, very clean, nice amenities and beautiful gardens. The owners were very communicative. We would definitely stay again!

Why they chose this property
We built this home all by ourselves and are happy to share it with guests. The property is a life project and we are constantly tinkering and making improvements to make this place an awesome place for a getaway.
What makes this property unique
When you are on our property, it feels very remote and peaceful. But in reality we are a two-minute drive from a shopping center. This is not a touristy area, but there is still plenty to do - hiking, fishing, breweries, wineries, the flying circus, and even skydiving.
